Meh, we will probably beat one of the worst teams in the league to get to 3-4. Yay I guess. I hope belichick stops coaching like he is scared to lose so maybe we can beat some of the better teams.

One game at a time and it starts this week!!!
I think we're getting too hung up on conference records and seeding, etc. This team needs to play old Patriots football: limited mistakes, don't turn the ball over, and smart football. Focus on winning football, and one game at a time.

It is the Jets! They are coming to Foxborough.
The Pats won, blow out in the first encounter in NYC (NJ) because the Jets were terrible.

10/24/2021, at 1 PM, Pats vs the Jets.
I am scared.

Issue is, have a close loss to good team, but then have a close win vs one of the worst teams in football. There is no consistency, thats a sign of a average to below average team. I mean the titans beat the Bills. The Jets beat the titans, does that mean anything? No. Your record is your record. There is never one play that wins or loses a game.

This is a great post. It should be repeated a couple of times because it is so true. Thank you for your words.

Good morning everyone...TGIF for those of us who are working......getting you ready for Friday's activities:

I agree. We really shouldn't talk about seeding until we're at least .500. I know from my perspective the reason I've been bringing it up at all is because a lot of years a team will fall behind, and even if they turn it around and play well they've dug too deep of a hole. We're on the edge of that now, but I think because of that conference record potential, we're not there yet. So basically, it's a reason to have believe that IF they get back to old Patriots football, it won't be too little too late.

I hope we dont have a 4th and short at any point of the game, so I never think of the possibilites that wont happen.

2021 depends on these next 3 games and whatever our capacity is, it will became cristal clear after that. Starting this sequence with a Loss, and against the worst team of the bunch...would not be good.

Jets D is solid. I hope Skippy brings his A game.

I predicted 9-8 and no playoffs but with 3 out of our 4 losses vs NFC if we can get that record then maybe we'd be a "good" 9-8 with tiebreakers that might have a shot at the playoffs. Lots of season left obviously.

They won't get there if they keep playing sloppy.

As much as I despise the despicable Jete and all they represent, I'm concerned about this game because (A) the Jete are coming off a bye, (B) their defense is improving, (C) the Patriots are REALLY banged up physically, (D) our pass defense is pretty anemic and (E) our OL remains inconsistent at best. This could be a struggle.

One thing that might help is the Jets are 2-8 following their bye week in the last ten years. Bye weeks help, but I think bad teams are still bad teams, and giving them an extra week doesn't always matter. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Saleh is the caliber of coach that can better take advantage of it, but historically the Jets as a franchise have not been.

You know what I like to do? I like to pretend because I'm crazy that we're actually 5-1. I mean imagine a couple plays here or there we're 5-1 with wins against the Bucs and Cowboys. It makes me feel better inside to live in this alternate reality that really isn't so far away. So I like the chances of a 5-1 team at home against the Jest.

The good news is you're not alone there. Clearly.

I'd gladly settle for 4-2.

IMO, this is a big game for the Jete. It kind of reminds me of when we played Buffalo this time last year and they won and they got that confidence about them like they had taken control of the division. I think for the Jetes, a win at Foxboro would do a world of confidence for their team and in particular Selah as he tries to establish something positive for this season to build upon.
