Yeah, pats never spent money like that all at once, ever. Bill would go out in about the 3rd week of free agency and get a guy, we would all run and look up who he was, then pull a couple receivers off a trash heap, go get a guy with a high motor on someones practice squad who is missing two knee caps, get a high character guy who also was a fencer at Navy to play special teams. Brady would have to start over again trying to get new guys on offense to learn the complicated playbook, so we would struggle and then Brady would get them on the same page and would end up with a good season. There is a reason Bill went out and spent all that money on day one free agents...the part of the team that could turn cheap options into players is no longer here.

The reason they had so much space is that they had so few roster spots filled at the start of the off season.

Brady is the GOAT, no question about it, and after Brady the person who deserves the most credit for that is Belichick.

I recall the media and fans being pretty much 50/50 on who should be the QB once Bledsoe was ready to come back. Right from the get go Brady seemed to have a feel for the game that Bledsoe never had. Little controversially as to who would start the SuperBowl, really because Brady got hurt in the game against Pittsburgh.

Actually they didn't. Phil Perry covered this in a NBC article yesterday. The 2nd and 3rd quarter Jonnu and Henry only played together 3 of 22 snaps. You can guess what the offense did over and over (11 personnel spread shotgun). This was also when the Pats offense went 3 and out, 5 straight possessions and killed their own Patriot defense.

Too many men in the field, not enough men in the field, blocked punts, gassed players, not enough depth players during a game, time running out, wasting TOs, etc. That's not even getting into play calls.

The personnel grouping issues are definitely a coaching issue. And as much as I've defended Harry, that came to an end on Sunday when I saw him completely blow that play. If the reports are true, Bill has stuck by this kid and not knowing what to do on the field proves he's not putting in the extra work behind the scenes to reward that trust. It's just inexcusable and I'm shocked and amazed Belichick has put up with it. His snap counts this weekend should be telling.
