He was awarded the job long before that.Belichick kept 4 QB’s in 2000, then he gave Brady the job going into the playoffs, over the shrieks and howls of most Patriot fans.

They lost because they didn’t execute.
You are 100% wrong about the heavy package usage. Go watch the film. They used it throughout the game.
Lol. You're such a liar.I’m talking about the specific 22 package. Not “heavier” or 2 TE.
They used it 17 times. It would be stupid to use it much more than that. Unless you think Harry a fb and 2 TEs is a great innovation.
You said they abandoned it. They did not they used it throughout the game.
They have never ever had so many infilled roster spots to start an offseason. They have never....ever spent 160 mil in the offseason....ever. In fact, show me a year they even took a player on day one of free agency. So no, they do not do that all the time at all in any way.
Wow, you can really tell who your friends are when adversity strikes. Like rats jumping off the leaky ship.
The reason they had so much space is that they had so few roster spots filled at the start of the off season.Yeah, pats never spent money like that all at once, ever. Bill would go out in about the 3rd week of free agency and get a guy, we would all run and look up who he was, then pull a couple receivers off a trash heap, go get a guy with a high motor on someones practice squad who is missing two knee caps, get a high character guy who also was a fencer at Navy to play special teams. Brady would have to start over again trying to get new guys on offense to learn the complicated playbook, so we would struggle and then Brady would get them on the same page and would end up with a good season. There is a reason Bill went out and spent all that money on day one free agents...the part of the team that could turn cheap options into players is no longer here.
I think they go hand in hand. My post wasn't meant to be a TB v BB thing - just a different take on what BB is facing now.Belichick kept 4 QB’s in 2000, then he gave Brady the job going into the playoffs, over the shrieks and howls of most Patriot fans. Then he traded the 100 million dollar QB in division, once again over the shrieks and howls of at least half of the fan base. Brady is the GOAT, no question about it, and after Brady the person who deserves the most credit for that is Belichick.
I think they go hand in hand. My post wasn't meant to be a TB v BB thing - just a different take on what BB is facing now.
And those screams - they still echo.
I recall the media and fans being pretty much 50/50 on who should be the QB once Bledsoe was ready to come back. Right from the get go Brady seemed to have a feel for the game that Bledsoe never had. Little controversially as to who would start the SuperBowl, really because Brady got hurt in the game against Pittsburgh. He was awarded the job long before that.
It was a big issue going into those playoffs, and Belichick took the sh.t from the fans and media and stuck by Brady.
the heavy package usage. Go watch the film. They used it throughout the game.
The personnel grouping issues are definitely a coaching issue. And as much as I've defended Harry, that came to an end on Sunday when I saw him completely blow that play. If the reports are true, Bill has stuck by this kid and not knowing what to do on the field proves he's not putting in the extra work behind the scenes to reward that trust. It's just inexcusable and I'm shocked and amazed Belichick has put up with it. His snap counts this weekend should be telling.Too many men in the field, not enough men in the field, blocked punts, gassed players, not enough depth players during a game, time running out, wasting TOs, etc. That's not even getting into play calls.
You are wrong. Watch the tape. You're a liar. You changed what you said like you always do.
The plays I listed include 22 packages, so it would have been used even less than in first 3 drives, in 4th qtr and OT. They abandoned it in 2nd & 3rd qtr.
Move the goal posts again. That's what you do liar.
You can’t follow a conversation or act like an adult. Time to be done.Lol. You're such a liar.
Are you calling for a losing season this year? I'm saying we win 10 games and make the playoffs...then watch out everybody!!!!!!! Are you with me?
tell me what Coach Bill has won in his seasons without Brady? I'll hang up and listen...
Don Shula is known as the winningest coach in NFL history. Nobody questions his legacy even though for his last 12 years at Miami with hall of fame QB the Dolphins only made one Super Bowl in Marino's second year.
Nobody questions Chuck Noll's legacy after winning 4 Super Bowls even though for his last 12 years at Pitt he never made it to another Super bowl. Noll is known as the coach that won 4 Super Bowls with the Steelers.
This. And before names like Trent Dilfer and others get thrown out there, name a coach who won without a great QB and then managed to keep winning without a great QB.Name a coach that has won without a great QB. I'll hang up and listen.
"But can he rush the Hoplomachus?"
For example, part of Shula's legacy is that he's the head coach who couldn't win a Super Bowl with Dan Marino in his prime.
