Sad to see BB's legacy ripped apart like this

Wrong. Kraft brought in people to make it a group decision no longer trusting Bill to fv&k it up again.

Lol, they broke a record in amount of guaranteed money. Never been done before. By anyone. Ever. Keep lying.

Correct, Kraft is expecting wins for what he spent, not excuses
Yeah, pats never spent money like that all at once, ever. Bill would go out in about the 3rd week of free agency and get a guy, we would all run and look up who he was, then pull a couple receivers off a trash heap, go get a guy with a high motor on someones practice squad who is missing two knee caps, get a high character guy who also was a fencer at Navy to play special teams. Brady would have to start over again trying to get new guys on offense to learn the complicated playbook, so we would struggle and then Brady would get them on the same page and would end up with a good season. There is a reason Bill went out and spent all that money on day one free agents...the part of the team that could turn cheap options into players is no longer here.

Adam never missed a FG and was better than Gost. Diddnt you hear?
More amazing he was able to kick the fg right after the kick off, the offense never had to drive the field at all.

If Kraft fires him there will be 20 openings for HC. It’s more likely Bill finds a good landing spot like Brady did on a team that just needs a spark to get over a hump and Kraft will have a harder time finding a replacement to fill his shoes.

It’s kind of a lose-lose for us. Guys like Bill become institutionalized in their org . It took a new owner for the Cowboys to finally move on from Landry who clearly was past his day, and Jones still gets **** for it. Shula basically got to die a death in Miami before he ultimately decided enough was enough.

If Bill does get forced out, it’s more likely he loses a few years and takes a PR hit and he decides to retire to save face than have Kraft dismiss him
Bill is 69 going on 70. He's not starting all over again somewhere else, starting from scratch trying to implement his draconian ways. It won't be well received by the players. They hated Patricia in DET for trying to be Bill. Times have changed.

Also Adam was booed like no other player ever when he came back to Foxboro as a Colt so please, no homer has any right to use him as some dig against Brady now.

Next 3 years?!?!?

If Bill has another losing season next year after one this year, he's gone.
Because of the amount of guaranteed money he makes, he becomes a lame duck Coach if he’s not winning when his contract expires. I don’t think Bob wants to pay him $20M per year without being there.

Wow, you can really tell who your friends are when adversity strikes. Like rats jumping off the leaky ship.

Really? You don't think Bill gets fired after 3 losing seasons?

REALLY?

Not a chance. This is a rebuild, and the Kraft’s know that. They also know that Belichick is the primary reason their franchise went from around a value of 434 million to 5 billion over the past twenty years. I don’t believe the Kraft’s are as clueless and ignorant as those who think this would be a smart move.

"Something is wrong."

Yes. BB is faced with rebuilding a team that doesn't have the single greatest NFL player of all time. The guy who elevated everyone on the field, and in the booth, and on the sideline.

This is unprecedented. It has never happened. Montana to Young is a pale shadow in comparison. We're talking the departure of the player that is the exception to ALL the rules. Brady is not up there with Russel, Orr, and Williams. He is an amalgamation of all three - plus Bird. Losing that is not a meh situation.

Solid #1's, Tier 2 players that are more like 1-A's, flexible O-lineman that are good at two spots, insanely fluid offensive game plans that worked and therefore allowed for similar fluidity in the defensive game plans. Take flyer on some FA's - the core is established and productive.

All that is gone. BB has to make a huge change in philosophy now, and it will not happen overnight. Last season was a pass. This season is to figure out the identity and to start building the new core. Next season, by week 5, we should see a return to the success. I still expect to see players that can handle multiple positions - but now more like 1.5 rather than 2 or 3. We're talking a complete reinvention of the team.

BB was smart enough to see success in Brady (not to the level he got - no one saw that coming) while 6 complete busts went before him. He's smart enough to reinvent the Patriots.

They have never....ever spent 160 mil in the offseason....ever. In fact, show me a year they even took a player on day one of free agency. So no, they do not do that all the time at all in any way.
Because they never ever had 160 mil.
They spent to the cap just like they do every year. They had less money on the cap, so more to spend in free agency. It’s not that complicated.

They ran 7 heavy personnel plays on their first two possessions. They ran 5 heavier plays on their third drive. In the 4th qtr on their longest drive, they ran 6 two TE sets. Then two more in OT.

Get some glasses or stop lying.
I’m talking about the specific 22 package. Not “heavier” or 2 TE.
They used it 17 times. It would be stupid to use it much more than that. Unless you think Harry a fb and 2 TEs is a great innovation.
You said they abandoned it. They did not they used it throughout the game.

The $160 is guaranteed money. They have never ever spent that type of real cash capital other than when Kraft bought the team.

It doesn’t matter. It’s the result of the cap money they had.

in a world where clicks and twitter followers are key, where guys like tom curran and ben volin are considered "sports media" (i'm not even going to get into the radio guys), pond scum might be an upgrade.

Curran is absolutely sports media... Is your problem with him that he writes things critical of Bill?

Ben Trollin' is a different matter entirely.

my GF, who is not really a sports fan, was listening to the post game presser when the radio broadcast ended the other day......she asked why in the hell they make anyone do this immediately following a loss...

Excellent question.

They're not going anywhere. Sports media has been a thing since gladiators were fighting in the Collesuem.

Their beat writers at the time were I believe Willus McDoughnnus, Petra Gammonidis, and Robertus Ryanae Hiberniae...

You're a liar. You changed what you said like you always do.

The plays I listed include 22 packages, so it would have been used even less than in first 3 drives, in 4th qtr and OT. They abandoned it in 2nd & 3rd qtr.

Move the goal posts again. That's what you do liar.

Sort of. Rehbein saw the talent. BB made the call in mid 01 to stick with the kid when most coaches would have gone back to the icon Bledsoe.

Belichick kept 4 QB’s in 2000, then he gave Brady the job going into the playoffs, over the shrieks and howls of most Patriot fans. Then he traded the 100 million dollar QB in division, once again over the shrieks and howls of at least half of the fan base. Brady is the GOAT, no question about it, and after Brady the person who deserves the most credit for that is Belichick.

It doesn’t matter. It’s the result of the cap money they had.
Again with your lies. You said they did it every year. What they did this year had never been done before. Ever. Stop it.
