OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Ok, some throws were off. I mean he did complete over 70 percent of his passes. I am sure it bothered him a bit, but he did have a lot of velocity on the ball still.
I believe the only long pass he completed the 2nd half was the 27 yd one to AB. It did have zip. But you're right, he completed 81% of his passes on 42 attempts but they were mainly check downs.

No no Im with you. I was thinking that watching the game that a lot of things were short. I didnt know if it was the thumb or what the eagles were doingIt looked like it was going a bit longer in the first half, someoen said he hit his thumb again and then they started going short, I dont know, they wont say I am sure, The velocity looked fine but but on a bit deeper stuff it looked off more than normal. I am sure it will be fine, probably just sore. Good time for mini bye.

Then: We should not pay $25M for a 43 year-old quarterback! No way. If he’s not willing to accept $15M, that’s that. The Patriots aren’t sentimental and don’t pay for past accomplishments. And extend him for another year?! Can you imagine the risk of a two-year deal?! No thanks. The Patriots don’t rebuild. They reload.

Now: Be patient, you whiny, entitled jerk. Did you think they’d compete every season? This is only year two of the rebuild. There’s a long way to go, and I’ll be thrilled if they compete for the wild card next year. With the right strength and conditioning coach, wait till next year or the year after…our QB will easily be able to throw the ball twenty-five yards during a game.
Every week that goes by, Brady makes Bill look like a complete and utter clown.

Listening to Revis say the Patriots O system consisted of quick out routes and passes to RBs. Watching last night there was a lot of that.

I think BA hates that and after BB said Bucs O is very similar to Pats, I wonder if he told OC to "get aggressive." There was a time where they abandoned what was working to go with chunk passes that failed. That 4&2 pass to OJ was dumb AF.

I think BA loves this offense. He has never had a QB that can beat a team in so many different ways.

I hated the 4th down call. I do wonder if the ball was intended to go there or if Brady just made that read. I wish they had ran.

I don't want Bill fired just for the sole reason of letting Brady go. That IMO would be compounding one mistake with another.

But if and when the Bucs repeat while at the same time the Pats regress this year and Mac shows no improvement - then what? I hope he knows what he's doing. After that spending spree I'm not as sure about that as I was.

I wish we could put these type of comments to bed. It is what it is. They seem to have made their peace after their game. We should just enjoy Tom having as much success as possible while hoping the Pats can get their act together, sooner rather than later.

I'm no fan of Bill, but he's a good coach and the only one we have. Brady's going to continue to win. He's a winner. For Brady, actions speak louder than words.

Mac Jones was inducted into the hall of fame after two games but we told bills fans to wait a couple years on Allen

At one point in the first half, Brady's only incompletion was a sideline fade which drifted about 6 inches too far out. He banged his thumb a time or two (they showed one on replay), and we saw Brady wince in pain. He wasn't the same after that, and they changed the offense in the second half. It went from the Tompa Bay offense to the Mac Jones offense.

Fournette and AB have been dominating for Tampa this season. Both brought in by Brady.

Yeah this exactly what I saw.

I don't want to hear it from you if Mac turns out to be a great QB because you are obviously mocking him

I thought it was obvious he reinjured it after the second touchdown. He wasn't sharp on anything after that; he missed almost anything over 10 yards, even a few easy turnaround routes. Even the two "dagger throws" were off. The one to Antonio Brown was a bad pass as Brown had to slow down and the ball was nearly broken up; the pass to Brate to ice the game was perhaps his worst pass of the game, and especially terrible for Brady, who is famous for throwing the balll low in a situation like that where an interception is a cardinal sin. Brate made a nice snag there, but I bet that type of pass is intecepted about 10-20%, bouncing off finger tips near the goalline with all those defenders.

Anyway, as always he found a way to do enough to ensure the Bucs scored more points than the Eagles. Having 10 days to rest it will be good.

Betting that an aging quarterback can maintain his level of play is much less risky that betting that a developmental quarterback can succeed in raising his level of play.

OJ Howard is much slower now. I wonder if that’s the new normal post-achilles or if he’s still working back to full recovery.

Were you timing him? Did you have a stopwatch?

I thought OJ looked quicker last night then he had all season.

Especially on that screen pass.

I tend to think because of that it's the latter and not former like Gronk last year.

By the end of the season OJ maybe looking like his pre injury self

Defense was really good Atleast the front u they were dominating and chasing Hurts all night. People clown the secondary but how many teams can survive there best corner out as well as the Nicole corner and best safety. Once they get those guys back plus Tryon getting more experience (he’s unreal) the defense will be very good come December
