Ty Law was one of my favorite players in NFL history.
But he was TY first everyone knew that.
Vrabel wasn’t drafted by the Pats he’s a heck of a player but I wouldn’t put him with Troy Brown and Rodney Harrison that’s just my opinion.
Ted Johnson was a ok player heck or a run plugger but that’s about it.
Seymour is a monster but his clashing with Bill over money and yes I am disgusted BB disciplined Seymour when He took time off when Seymour Father passed.
But Seymour wasn’t the face of our franchise.
Tom was we always said he’s different then Peyton he’s different than Brett he’s different than the divas.
That’s what I loved the most about Tom and I was going to name my first born Brady til his mother the day of his birth said no that was her cousins name.
So I named him Brayden.
Nobody was a bigger Tom fan than me but that was the humble put the team first it’s not me it’s the players the it takes 53 guys it’s the coaching.
If you can’t see this isn’t the same guy I don’t know what to say to you.
But I respect your Tom Brady love.
I see a guy who was so obsessed with his sports immortality he hooked on to a controversial trainer and moved the guy in. Belichick and Lombardi both thought he was at the end which is why they drafted Jimmy.
Lombardis words were it was his velocity his arm strength his decision making was All on the Down slide.
Now his arm strength mental processing deep ball is all better than ever.
Tom isn’t human, or he’s found some supplement not on the band list that is giving Him a advantage.
This is the same trainer who was with A Rod.
I honestly think Bill knows something and didn’t want his legacy tarnished by it.

But yes, the myth amongst Pats fans (who probably weren’t watching then) was that Katzenmoyer sucked. In fact, he was the pre Urlacher and some used Katz as a comp when entered the league.

I was rocking my Bledsoe jersey in 4th grade when Emmy entire school was Eagles and Steelers.

It’s quite bizarre Bill wouldn’t extend him before the 2019 without any plan in place. It would’ve made more sense if Jimmy was on the roster. But, we’ve seen Bill do this many times before.

I hope I'm not the same guy I was at 30 in my 40's. If Tom didn't evolve and change I doubt we have as many banners as we have. I don't see the same guy and that's a good thing imo. His situation was crazy unique. Arguably the biggest outlier in sports history. It would be impossible, thankless and never-ending trying to make everyone happy after everything he's gone through.

I don't see any problems with what Tom's doing. Although I'm good at detachment, separating things, I don't see some fake or me first guy.

He's not playing this long for money or brand. Or status or really anything else besides he's a competitive MF that wants to put a grand canyon size gap between him & #2.

I look at his numbers and they have pretty much been consistent. Brees had a great year at 40 years old. Different game also take into account how much they protect the QB but brady is a tough sob. He has played injured many times. Some players haven’t been able to get to that point because they have poor work habits in the offseason. Brady breathes the game of football. He can’t live without it seems.

Basically everyone on the Buccaneers, including players who are around half of Brady’s age, have been coming out for months (basically since the playoff win against the Saints) saying that Brady was this incredible influence on them all and a guy who was incredibly personable but also a ball buster who taught them how to win. So yeah not sure anyone who actually interacts with the man on a daily basis considers him a Prima Donna. And it’s pretty clear players on the Bucs don’t have a gag order, they can just say whatever the hell they want so I wouldn’t go calling them liars.

Was Brady a pill in the lockeroom for the 2019 season and not his usual self in terms of being a team guy because he kind of gave up when he figured he couldn’t get this offense to do anything he wanted them to do? Yep I wouldn’t deny that. But I can forgive him after 17 great years prior to that.

Sounds like Brady was usurping the head coach role in Tampa Bay from what you describe. That doesn’t seem out of character for a prima donna. Also seemed like Brady’s farewell sulk in New England was rooted in the team not doing things to his liking, at least that was a lot of the reporting at the time. Again, that’s the kind of behavior that gets one labeled “prima donna”.

I don't know about Brady gave up or Brady's body language was bad or whatever. Maybe he was ready to move on all along. Imunno. Maybe that supposedly "inside" article was right, that BB wanted Brady gone and wanted Jimmy G to be HIS guy. Again, I wasn't there. I just treated it as more noise.

But again, if he was wanting new laundry, that's fine - that's where he and I part ways, I'm with you there. I think you were even more down on Brady than I am - I mean, I just feel like he's not our guy anymore, eff him. In terms of pure talent, one day we might have a better guy, probably when he's 50 the way things are going. They eventually came to the conclusion that it's time to make the move. I think they expected Tom to be okay with driving his price steadily down based on his age when he just saw that his production was still elite. That's just a natural point of disagreement, with Tom saying "you know what? You can't possibly imagine more than X, these guys say I AM worth more, now I go bye-bye." And bless his heart he went down there and proved his point. I don't think it's about money so much as BB in so many words saying "CAN'T" to Brady: You CAN'T keep playing at an elite level, you CAN'T expect the Pats to act as if you will, etc.

I mean, that's all a bunch of speculation too. Bottom line, he's not here, he had his reasons, but you & I agree on the one salient point: This is the New England Patriots, not the New England Toms, and yeah it'll take people different amounts of time, but we do have to put Brady in the rear view. It would be fun to sack him 5 times in that first reunion... even if he is soaking up the applause from the fans (which I hope stop with the opening whistle... heck, they could actually turn on him.
