Early season Brady teams often underachieve. This is, I think, the biggest reason for pessimism about the game. Even if Cam is great or Mac hits the ground at full speed, you're talking about 4 new starters at the skill positions that have never played together before, and none of them with the current QB's either. Conversely, you have Tom Brady with the same exact supporting cast. That kind of thing favors Tampa Bay heavily in the first month of the season. The defense will have to play a great game to give us a chance I think, we're not winning a shootout. Thankfully there, I do trust BB to draft a good gameplan. Whether it can be executed for 60 minutes or not is another question, but it won't be because they don't know what they SHOULD do.
We just have the one exclamatory cuss word. Works for everything.I was down in NC with some friends from other states, and trying to explain to them that "Wicked Pissah" could be both positive and negative depending on context was challenging. Also, they mostly just wanted me to do a Boston accent, even though I don't have a natural one.
I imagine its just another game to Brady, I mean he won the superbowl last year, he really does not have much to prove anymore. I doubt the players on the Patriots hate Brady near as much as some fans do, but they are going to play just like he is. Its not really bullitin board material.

He does have some weapons, no argument there. Okay, changed my mind. Sweep the leg.I don't disagree, because factually you're correct... but, in this case, all of the examples we have of Brady having slow starts are A) with the Patriots, so also apply to them, or B) one season with a brand new team, where a slow start isn't unexpected. There are also plenty of examples of Brady led teams starting very fast, such as 2007. And aside from historical fast/slow starts for either team, my comment was more about the familiarity with his receivers, which is an advantage early in the season.
Ok, so High got quoted as saying something like "It'll be good to see 12 again," and responded to a followup with "Oh you mean like soft sacking him or something? Nah."
And of course, it got paired with headlines about "GOAT hunting" etc.
1. I dont like bulletin board material, but who cares. It wasn't, some editor made it into bulletin board material, by now I am sure Brady is having a "no respect fest" in Tampa where he calls Gronk and they go "Wasssuppppp" like 20 times and then talk about it and how they are gonna just run over the Pats like they used to in practice then they both call all the other Bucs and go "Waassssupppp" like 10 times with a couple of older guys but then start talking to Bucs not yet born when that commercial was on and then stop doing it, but then get into this big "oh it's on" thing
2. my main reason for posting - I kind of like that it's out there. Yeah yeah freakin Old Man Winter Because Thats When the Super Bowl is can whine about how we still don't respect him or whatevah and make us his red white and silver and blue whale all he wants, I mean, he can only get so amped. It's not like he'll need the extra nudge.
I kinda like the idea that High's got to have the defense ready to go to work that much more
3. Oh how I'd love to see Brady brutalized (but note, not injured, don't read me as hoping for that except secretly oops not even then don't even joke about it.)
Now to be clear, he did what he shoulda done, the Pats did what they shoulda done, their interests, as they saw them, simply diverged. You move on. But this will be him vs. us. I think when the Pats come out of the tunnel the PA guy should say "Preferring to kick your ass as a team, the 2021 New England Patriots"
Okay that is all. Not an information rich post. Just how I feel after reading a couple articles on this "GOAT hunting" thing
I don't want to belabor this but you know as well as I do that playing with a chip on his shoulder is an important element of his game. So, running down the field to get in a DBs face is just part of that. How good an idea it would be to do it now at his age is a different story.Yeah, it is part of who he is. And still not a strategic use of energy.
For a 20 year old, I get it. Not a 40 year old.
Which was a stupid waste of energy and contributed nothing to his performance from that point forward.
