Re: the draft. I have no problem with fans wanting to win & compete. It’s not about Lawrence. There are four franchise QB prospects in Lawrence, Fields, Wilson & Lance. The argument is the team would be more likely to obtain one at pick 6-8 than 15-17.

The defense came to play today. Multiple young players stepping up on both sides of the ball. Cam has to play better if they want a chance to make this interesting.

You have Cam who has won games as a starter for our team, and you’re also seeing if he’s worth keeping for next year.

You also have Hoyer and Stidham who give you no upside in the game other than their role as backup. Most likely neither will be on the roster next year. Stidham had his chance against the Chiefs and he was horrible. Looked like he had no business being on an NFL field.

Seems to me the coaches already have tbh. He is not an NFL starting QB. His ceiling is backup and I question if he’ll even get there. There’s no point “seeing what you have” with a guy like that, he is who he is.

Again Cam isn’t NFL caliber anymore.

I think so too but hard to say. I think there's a chance they can get Wilson if they drop like 3 more games but probably not. In all likelihood Lawrence, Fields, Lance and Wilson will be gone before pick #7 or 8 IMO. Pats aren't bottom-8 bad.

we’re talking 1-2 games at the end of the year. I would hope Bill would’ve already made that decision by then and wouldn’t need the full 16 games.

In realtime it didn't look like helmet to helmet to me. And in that circumstance, if the defender doesn't come with maximum force he is conceding the first down. I know the soft rules of today but I just can't fault the defender here.

I mean he totally hit him helmet first when he could have just made a clean hit. On a QB you have to know they are going to call

Cam has shown enough to say that he shouldn't be kept around. The horrendous 49ers game. The horrible passing where the receivers have bailed him out. Leading his receivers into hits. He did it again today with Meyers. We lucked out that Meyers didn't take a shot to the head. The horrible progressions.

People mentioned that he had Byrd, Harry and Meyers wide open at different times today and didn't get to them because he can't get through the progressions fast enough. He had Harry wide open across 3/4 of the field and only waited until Harry got to the sideline to attempt a throw. By then, there were three defenders near Harry even if it had been completed..

Cam did enough not to lose this game. Weren't the Pats supposed to get obliterated by the Cards and their superest of super star QB's? Enjoyable football AFAIC but this is a season for evaluation at every position. I'm seeing players that want to play hard. Good enough. The draft will take care of itself but I'm a BB believer and I see him rebuilding right before our eyes.

I don’t care if we competing with good teams because that gives me faith in the future. It’s the whole “omg let’s dance because we beat the winless jets” where literally all we accomplished was helping a rival is where I have pause. And quite frankly if we aren’t going to at least compete for a playoff spot, I’d rather speed this rebuild up

Throwing wise he is the worst of the 3 we have. He is the best runner. Overall he may be better than Stidham, but he is still awful.
