Jimmy G. benched

if you look at who the Patriots drafted and trades for using the pick from SF we got a decent haul back. Wouldn’t call the JG pick a wasted pick.

If we got all of those players for Jimmy G's 2nd round pick, how many did Atlanta get with our 2nd rounder for Sanu?

You’re arguing semantics. I think the vast majority of sports fans consider a player taken out of a game due to poor performance as being benched. However, the vast majority of sports fans would *not* call it “being benched” if a starter got taken out because they have such a big lead or it’s a meaningless game.

Garoppolo was benched.

benched or benched?

Whether he was sat due to performance or injury the facts remain that he has been largely uninspiring and turns 29 next month. If he has any aspirations to move beyond a middle of the pack starter he'll need to pick it up soon. (after the Pats game preferably) I root for him but have rarely seen that spark he appeared to have when he first saw the field.

Yeah. He is what most QBs taken after round 1 become - a middler QB. He has also been injury prone on top which may end his career much quicker than his play on the field.

LOL.

Before Jimmy's injury, he was regressing in camp. I don't see him with the 9ers much longer. And no, I don't want him back in NE as that ship sailed. Cam is the guy and brings versatility to the offense.

They may be regretting not signing Tom Brady when he reached out to them as his first choice. It looks like the 9ers did him a favor with all their injuries.

Odd how QBs in SF fade after making it to Superbowls. Kaepernick started a Superbowl and almost won that game, then regressed. Jimmy G failed in the Superbowl 4th quarter and has regressed since.

.

I think Jimmy could have won a SB with the Pats in 2018. Why not? It’s not like Brady did anything amazing in that game and the Patriots run game was great in that playoff stretch.

I think jimmy starts again, once he is 100 percent healthy.

Garoppolo would have lost to the Chiefs in the AFCCG just like he lost to them in the Super Bowl. No way in heck he gets by KC that year.

Funny how so many talk about how Brady is old and will probably get injured.... meanwhile, QBs are dropping like flies but Brady keeps playing.

All they had to do was sign Brady but no let’s stick with the guy who lost us the super bowl when all he had to make was college level passes

It's amazing how if JG hits Sanders in the Super Bowl instead of overthrowing him by 4 yards the narrative around his 4th quarter is completely different. All came down to that one throw.

I doubt SF is letting Jimmy walk unless they have major concerns about his durability. Their backups aren't much better than Hoyer or Stidham. If they do let him walk for that reason I can't think of any reason why the Pats would sign such a QB.
I think it is just a fetish by our media. They desperately wanted to be right that the Pats should have traded Brady and kept Jimmy when it has become obvious over the past 3 seasons that it was the opposite that was true. Not only that but Brady is a better QB at age 43 than Jimmy is now. LOL

The Sanu trade was absolutely dreadful and completely out of the realm of how Bill normally operates. I think we can agree on this. So what were the circumstances that surrounded that trade where Bill did something he normally would never do and hasn't ever done before?

And by bringing up the Sanu trade, are you saying that you are not happy with how Bill managed to spin the Jimmy G 2nd in to what the team eventually received?
