Day 2 Targets

my choises for 37 in this order:

Zach Baun
YGM
Josh Jones
Michael Pittman
Malik Harrison
AJ Epenesa

however it might be that the first 3 named will be already gone, since they are also fulfilling some needs of the 4 teams drafting before the Pats in the 2nd round

curious to see how it pans out, just don't want any QB, RB, CB or Safety drafted here by the Pats

Hello to all ,,,first post in the Draft section for me. I said this in another thread 3 days ago,,,,I keep feeling we Draft Jalen Hurts today sometime.
He might fall in the 3rd Round.
Just my gut feeling,,no reason other than I like him and that he did play for Saban.

37/71 is exactly what we needed!

I'm sure Bill & co are thrilled.

Can't wait to see who's on the board at 37.

I’m hoping you’re not being facetious because I like this trade.

Based on who is available at 37 I would like to see the pick come from one of these positions

WR: Higgins, Shenault, Mims
S: McKinney, Delpit
OT: Jones, Cleveland
Edge: Ygm, Epenesa, Baun

I think picking a te at 37 is reaching for a need.

You called the trade down BGC. I was nervous we wouldn't have any trade partners. I'm so happy for this move. In mock drafts it was torture watching the names come off the board between 23 and 87.

add jeremy chinn to this list for me

  • I expect OTs Josh Jones and Ezra Cleveland to come off the board before 37 - if not I give either one of them serious consideration.
  • Don't want to reach for a TE at 37.
  • WR isn't my first need but Tee Higgins has me intrigued as a potential BPA
  • I love WR Shenault if not for injury risk. Give me Devin DuVernay as a slot in later rounds
  • LB/EDGE players I'd take at 37 Willie Gay Jr, Malik Harrison, Julian Okwara, Josh Uche
  • DT - I really like Davon Hamilton as a run stuffer for our D Line. 37 may be a reach but I think he could be gone by 71. Jordan Elliot has first round talent with pass rushing ability according to PFF.
  • Will Miami give us a 2nd rounder for Joe Thuney?????

Other than Reagor, Murray, Brooks, and Wilson, all of my realistic targets are still on the board. Agree that I don't see the value at TE this early, but if we have to reach for a starter, then so be it (that doesn't sound like BB's MO, however). I like the safety and edge rusher options. WR is still deep and appealing, though I'm not sure we double dip. Mims and Claypool, Jefferson and Duvernay, Hamler and Shenault, Bowden and DPJ -- tons of options.

My prediction is the Patriots drop down another 10 - 15 slots, try to push a pick of two forward to next year, and make at least one trade up for a falling player they like, probably into the late second.

Agree. If we stay with 37th pick I assume we will take OT/S/DE. Jones or Cleveland would be a safe pick, YGM/Epenesa make sense. Considering S position McKinney/Delpit might be BB choice. Personally I would give up S and grab Ashtyn Davis or Chinn if they are available later.

Davis is interesting. I'm a big fan of the top two guys, though. I see a drop after them. Who knows if I'm right about that; Chinn is really intriguing, as you say.

YGM reminds a bit of Jones coming out of Syracuse. Lewis has a similar body type, with a bit more juice (but injury history). I also like Zuniga, Jennings, Baun, Uche, etc toward the end of today's picks. Epenesa looks like a super charged Trey Flowers, but his Combine is the ultimate tape vs testing conundrum.

I still like Cushenberry and Biadasz at some point if we need to prep for losing Andrews again -- signs point toward him playing again, which is positive, but blood clots worry me for his sake. Lots of athletic OTs remain as well. Any of them would make sense with Cannon's age, though I'd prefer to go TE/S/EDGE.

Hamilton, Elliot, or Fotu look good at DT in the 3rd. I'm not sold on anyone else along the line. Wish we could skip the next 12 hours!!

I think Kmet is well worth 37. The rest of the class are 3rd rounders. You don't find a ton of 6'6 260lbers with the body control he has. Hes young, has been a two sport guy so certainly has some polish to be had, but has the tools, size, and toughness to be a true inline TE that can block and catch.

A safety wouldn't make me too mad, D Mac and Chung ain't lasting forever

I love Winfield, but BB is sure to love McKniney

Hurts I'm a big fan of, obviously a style unique to this...Still has to improve as a passer (Like all rookie QBs), but he is a better passer than most are assuming...I imagine Saban has rave reviews

We're all so pessimistic in here...Think we've seen one too many Ras-I Dowling's on Day2 to take today lightly

Higgins would be a total shock, but welcomed...Baller

I'll be hoping for an edge guy, based on what Caserio said last night, I feel NE is ging front 7 early
The WR I want in the 3rd or 4th is Hamler.
Hollywood Brown-lite...Haven't had an explosive guy here in a while

Hopeful NE extends Thuney, but with so little in Cap I'm curious what BB does

Higgins is a baller, my #5 WR after Jeudy, Lamb, Ruggs, and Jefferson

Should be a good WR2 or a lesser WR1
Good job with that first pick. You nailed the spot he went. I thought he'd be a mid-late second kind of guy.
Aiyuk is super raw, didn't love last night for SF

I would have taken Lamb on the trade up and maybe traded back at 31

That said, they got two promising players

Kinlaw's story is unreal, like many of the prospects
