Yup, you're right . . . IF
1. He adapts to Tampa personnel and playbook.
2. He doesn't get injured.
3. He plays like he did at age 40.
Good luck with that. Sorry.
Perhaps. There is also a chance they go 6-10 and score 19-22 pts a game. Then what ?Watch what Brady does with the talent they have in TB. It will prove all of us "BB you are wasting the Brady years with inferior talent" people right.
Well, as you see BB doesn't agree with you. Clearly they wanted to keep DMC and Thuney and the fact that Tom is gone points to BBs evaluation of Tom as a 43 year old football player. No they didn't. I'd rather they have not signed Thuney or DMac or release/restructured someone else than release Brady to save $7m.
BTW it makes even less sense for 2020. Brady's cap hit is $13m and we'll likely sign a backup or competition for Stidham who will cost $5-6m. We'll end up at $18-19m cap hit for this QB slot. Instead they could have taken Tom on a multi-year deal with voidable years and spared us the cap hit.
What’s going to happen in the 2021 offseason? The only big name player whose contract is up is Hightower (or Thuney if they don’t work out an extension). You think Belichick is leaving?Well, as you see BB doesn't agree with you. Not saying BB is right/wrong but its plain as day how the man is thinking. I understand why fans don't like it.
The fact is a) Tom didn't want to be here and b) BB didn't think he was worth big money and a multi-year deal. He wanted to keep one of the best FSs and OGs in the NFL instead.
Time will tell if he made the right choice.
If you think this offseason is tumultuous, wait till 2021.
Ugh just waiting for the official announcement so we can get this over with.

JE11 will be gone. Gilly gone or restructure. Chung gone. New Qb if Stidham tanks. High gone (maybe this year if he won't do an extension)DMC & JMC gone. What’s going to happen in the 2021 offseason? I took a shot on a 25 dollar wager for Tampa Bay to win the SB. If I win, it pays 800 dollars. Hard to pass up those odds.
You think so? Edelman and Chung’s contracts both run through the 2021 season; I suspect if Edelman is gone it’s now via a trade rather than next year, and Chung will only be gone if he looks done. Gilly’s contract is very affordable in light of the anticipated cap explosion and he’s still the best CB in the league. JMac isn’t under contract for 2021, you’re right there. However I strongly doubt the Pats set up DMac’s contract the way it is if they just planned on his being here for one more season.JE11 will be gone. Gilly gone or restructure. Chung gone. I don’t feel super confident that they’ll play football this year, but it’s better than wasting the little bit of money that I had left in my account on stupid table games. No use having it in there with sports currently canceled.Good bet there. Could hedge later on too.
Of course i'll be wrong on a couple but every player I mention is/will be over 30 and represent a significant cap savings if not on the team or if their deal doesn't change in 2021.You think so? Hightower I could see leaving if he’s not happy about his LB buddies going off and getting paid, and if BB thinks injuries have taken their toll on him. I think he’s a guy BB really likes though; he’s called him Mr. February and you know what that means to BB.
