Rather than just looking at the Brady interview, I'd like to point to something from Kraft:
https://nypost.com/2020/01/06/robert-krafts-nightmare-tom-brady-scenario-very-much-in-play/
So, if Kraft is being honest, and not just playing to the media, there should be no problem here. Pay Brady what he wants, for how long he wants, bring in the kind of offensive players that can help him win, stop ditching guys because you don't like what they texted, and "let's go".
There's a big difference between "load up on top players for Brady's sake" and what Brady had to work with in the passing game this year.
Brady is absolutely getting paid.
Again he'll arguably be the most valuable FA in the history of the league. The GOAT QB. Fans are spoiled beyond belief here. 25 other teams would do w/e it took to get him in there. Esp ones that are ready to roll. LAC, Chi, Tenn etc.
Highest profile, yes. Most valuable, at 44? Lol.
QB is the most valuable position in the game by miles. You have one, you have a shot. You don't, you're going nowhere.Highest profile, yes. Most valuable, at 44? Lol.
Drew Brees? Was much younger. Im not sure how free agency will play out for TB, hope he stays here for a reasonable contract and they can get him weapons.QB is the most valuable position in the game by miles. You have one, you have a shot. You don't, you're going nowhere.
Please name me a better QB to ever hit FA?
At the time Brees was very good but not anywhere near the guy we've seen the past few years imo.Drew Brees? Was much younger. Im not sure how free agency will play out for TB, hope he stays here for a reasonable contract and they can get him weapons.
And then you wake up from your wet dream and remember that the salary cap is still a thing in the NFL.

Any GM who gave a 43 year old QB 35 million should be fired on the spot.

And people called me crazy back in October when I said Kraft cutting AB may be the straw that finally breaks the camel’s back for Brady.....
Looks like my takes just keep getting more and more realistic...
So I'm gonna say that Peyton was a 'better QB to hit FA' than Brady coming off this season. Hope I'm wrong and that he comes back to the Pats and performs better than he did this year (injuries and all).
Brown would have been suspended by Goodel the minute we reactivated him and even if he only had to miss 4 or 5 or 6 games chances are hight that he would have done soemting else stupid enough to start the process all over again. Don't you get it? The idiot isn't employable. Even as talented as he is he isnt worth it. Fair enough, not bad at all although I'd disagree. I feel like Brady is still the better player at this stage. Peyton walked into a dream situation & fell off a cliff right after. He already missed an entire year. Brady was in a nightmare situation this year & isn't close to as fragile as Manning was at the time.Prior to Brady it was unequivocally Peyton. So the comparison is between Peyton and Brady. The result might change by how you define the parameters.
You could say that Brady this year was better than Peyton's year before FA where he was injured the full year (Brady wins by default). Or you could compare Brady this year to Peyton's 2010 year (Peyton probably wins). Regardless, after signing as an FA, Peyton had what at the time was the best statistical season by a QB ever, which I'm guessing Brady won't touch regardless of where he ends up.

BB is a mastermind coach, but average at best GM.
