There's a lot of those types of fans. LeBron for instance has fans that follow him but they're not really fans of the team.

I don't know how big a contingent of these fans are in Patriot fandom when it comes to Brady, but they're certainly becoming clearer who they are.

The only rule of being a fan of a team is to be rooting for the team to win. When you’re rooting for a player on another team to beat the team you’re allegedly a fan of, you are clearly not a fan of that team.

I will always root for the Patriots, even against Brady, but I'd be lying if I told you I won't be following or rooting for Brady when he moves on, which is why I want him to go to the Vikings, because he can win a Super Bowl there (and yes, I believe that if Brady moves on NEXT YEAR the Patriots chances drop very low, likely behind the Bills in the division, and likely out of the playoffs). So--I would be rooting for a team like the Vikings.

I have to ay I'd have a very hard time rooting for most AFC teams, so that would be difficult. For instance, I even hate Zach Piller, Deion Lewis and the Titans (heh). Of course I hate Mr. Classy, Cry Me a Rivers and the Chargers. I suppose Cincy does not bother me all that much but then again I don't want to see Brady ending up with the 2nd most dysfunctional franchise in football (Redskins).

I was a New England Patriots fan long before I'd ever heard of Tom Brady.
And I will be a New England Patriots fan long after Brady hangs em up.
While he's here I love him. Just like I loved John Hannah, Russ Francis, Teddy, Big Vince and Gronk, while they were here.
I am first and foremost a Pats fan. Brady doesn't supersede my love for the team.

It would still hurt a lot if Brady dons some other colours.....

There never has been any actual news. It's always been a giant stew of innuendo, speculation, opinion, and throwing crap against the wall. Brady may or may not play elsewhere next season, or he may retire. Nobody. Knows. Brady probably doesn't even know right now. But there is no evidence that he will be playing elsewhere.
