Why is responding to lawsuits a sham? Should teams and the league have simply avoided the law suit, and done nothing?
Just a side point on this.Maybe, but not all the teams are present.
.
I'm honestly just wondering why a guy wants to work for a league that ****ed him sideways over kneeling.
Kaepernick's reps call audible, workout moved at last minuteAtlanta Falcons’ training complex in Flowery Branch, the quarterback’s representatives announced the session was being moved 60 miles away to a high school in Riverdale.
The representatives said the switch was made because they wanted the media to be allowed to watch and videotape the workout.
Well they could have handled the anthem thing better but no one wanting to sign Kaepernick makes perfect sense to me.I thought I read reports that even Kaep was surprised. Regardless, I doubt the NFL is catering to him (they're doing this over halfway thru the season...) - and just doing a terribly planned, last-second PR stunt. I don't blame him for moving it, do something like that on your own terms.
I'm honestly just wondering why a guy wants to work for a league that ****ed him sideways over kneeling. Even if you hate Kaep, you gotta at least see the league handled this entire mess, from start to end, terribly - and this is a continuation of that trend.
They're not avoiding a law suit. They already had a law suit.

He stinks and he brings baggage. If you stink you better not bring baggage and if you bring baggage you need to not stink.
They settled the lawsuit. We cannot see the terms of any agreements that are part of the lawsuit. I don't know, and you don't know.
My suspicion is the the league is trying to reduce the penalty for collusion in the lawsuit by this action. Perhaps, the lawsuit is over; perhaps not.
In any case, having a tryout where 24 teams come can't hurt the league's position. Curiously, discussions on fan boards all over the country about why a pratuclar team shouldn't want Kaep will also help the league.
They largest age either starters, developmental players or both. I don’t know of any who stink, are 32 and bring baggage.Let's be clear. If every quarterback who some fans thought stank were fired, there wouldn't be enough QB's for teams to hire.
Let's just look at the AFC. How many QB's are on the roster of the four teams. How many stink?

The lawsuit is over. There was a settlement.
And aren't you the guy who talked about presuming just a day or two back?
fair enough
We do not know whether or not this tryout was part of the settlement. We do not know whether other actions are required by the league.

Belichick consistency brings in players for workouts all season long. It’s been explained that he does this even when he has no spot to fill but to build a list in the event one opens up, mostly due to injury.
Do you think if bb thought there was even the slightest chance he would want to sign Kaepernick that he would wait until the league scheduled a public workout for all teams to attend and then send someone there in hopes of signing him? It’s opposite of everything bb has ever done.
So if he had any interest in him, he would have brought him in for a private workout like he does with many players who are out on the street.Given that Kap has been out of the league for several years, I doubt BB knows what sort of shape he's in right now. With other players there's recent tape from which to evaluate.
A rousing success for Kaepernick. People are taking about him again. So, according to Florio, they're now trying to avoid secondary lawsuits (not "a lawsuit", because they've already had one of those) by creating a circus that plays right into the hands of the clown who precipitated all the problems in the first place, and by being so stupid with requirements that it invites a potential lawsuit from a litigious party itching to cry about discrimination and oppression?
Anything's possible, but that seems stupid even by Goodell's standards. Especially since all the league had to do in order to undercut any assertion of wrongdoing would have been to make a public statement about Kaepernick being in good standing with the league, and eligible to work out and/or play.
