This Chiefs team is garbage

Yeah, it's awful. I mean, he's on pace for 38TDs and 3 INTs.

Think what he'd do if he had football IQ!!

Do you ever chime in with anything that isn’t insulting?

I’ve probably written six posts this week praising Mahomes, including his decision making for the most part, and his ability to read defenses. I’ve outright said the guy is something very special and will dominate the league for years.

This is the second time (AFCCG) where the Chiefs had the ball with under 30 seconds before halftime backed up in their own territory and he’s fumbled while trying to wiggle his way out of a sack. Jesus man, your negativity is bad enough, but it’s particularly bad when you don’t even know the context of what you’re responding to. You do that often.

Mahomes had a fumble and pick today.

Brady had a fumble and a pick on Thursday.

People just love hating on Brady more

I dunno man. I'm not 100% sold on the Chiefs being garbage or easy yet. Give Hill a full week back, and Watkins coming back will take some coverage off Hill. Also, the Patriots have been here before - losing two in a row - and everyone starts screaming cliff. We always know what happens next. If Mahomes overcomes the adversity, I will really book him as a long-term legend. This is where it gets tough for the new guys. Wilson comes to mind

Chiefs may not be as score-at-will as last season, but I'm thinking they're due for a tear at any moment.

I still like our chances, though.

The Chiefs have mismanaged their cap badly. Mahomes is still in his rookie deal and they are saving like $40M!!! right now. What will happen when they need to fork it over to sideshow Bob?

Here are the issues:

I called the Frank Clark signing the very worst of the offseason. At $21M it’s absurd to pay a pass rusher like him (as there about 15 guys like him) Khalil Mack money. Not even sure he’s an upgrade over Dee Ford...so far he has been awful, but he was never the superstar his contract suggests.

Tyreek Hil is at $18M a year, though his big increase begins next year. He’s an elite receiver, but that’s a ton of money.

Sammy Watkins is at $16M (lol). This is one of those deals where at the time, “hey they can afford it” ultimately rears it’s ugly head. Even at his best, he isn’t close to that good.

Travis Kelce is at $10M. That’s a lot for a tight end who is totally incapable of blocking.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is also at $10M, which is a darn lot of money for a guard, especially one who has never made a pro bowl.

In conclusion, between Hill, Watkins, and Kelce, that’s $44M in cap, and if you throw in Clark that’s $65M. Receivers and pass rushers are the worst investments in the NFL considering their cost and the high supply of them.

When they pay Mahomes, this might be an 8-10 win team for a long time.

I’ve gone through stuff like this with Brady when comparing him + key skill players to Manning and Rodgers. Brady + his top 3 skill players may cost less than Mahomes alone. And people wonder why Brady “always has a good defense.” Gee, I wonder. If they actively tried to pump up his production to MVP numbers at the expense of the team, he’d win MVP every year.

I mean on some level they knew that their window in the current configuration (Mahomes, Kelce, Hill) is limited by Mahomes rookie deal ending and Kelce's age (he is 30). So they went kinda all in for about 3 seasons starting last season. And as we are 2 years into it they got damn close last year but have taken another step back this year.

But what made that Clark deal so absolutely ******ed is that they paid a 1st and a 2nd on top of having to pay market value. That being said you are absolutely right that the Watkins deal was a monumental waste of cap space that could have been used down the line to bolster depth.

**** like that just makes you appreciate the way BB builds the team to keep it competitive for so long much, much more. And it is not just Brady taking less money before some bozo starts with this nonsense.

Give Hill a full week back

Sucks that their next game is Thursday. In Denver.

Also, the Patriots have been here before - losing two in a row - and everyone starts screaming cliff.

And when the Chiefs show that they consistently overcome issues like that and improve through the season they deserve to get the same benefit of doubt that the Pats get around here. But if anything Reid's Chiefs teams have become more predictable as the season goes along every year.

Especially the so-called "Patriots" fans here who have been lusting and drooling all over this clown Magomes like they do with every other flavor of seasons past...anything to denigrate Brady and his accomplishments while claiming to be "rational" Pats fans. These clowns are SCUM. You want to pimp Mapuke log on to Chiefs Planet and stay there jerkoffs

Texans dropped two TD passes today too. Our D is going to need to come through big when we go to Houston

This seems like you are implying the chiefs defense is as good as the Pats defense

Given how many reference that it certainly sounds like another gameplan should be on its way to Canton.
I dont think a defensive gameplan that gave up 31 and was an OT coinflip away from losing should be in canton.

Now SB 53 on the other hand, absolutely

I'm saying the Texans look good that's all. Your point is taken though.

I think what really put the Watkins deal in perspective is that tweet from some reporter early in the season: we had Gordon, Edleman, Dorsett, and AB - all together - for the same price as Watkins. What a colossal waste.
I
really fail to see why more GMs don't study cap management. Not saying it's easy. But jfc, still.

The Texans had a very successful approach.

But we also saw another Andy-ism right before the half that was just as influential in deciding this game. Most football lore teaches you to kneel when you've got the ball in your territory with 40 seconds left and the lead at home. Andy got greedy, however, and ended up costing the team what was likely the decisive score.

Sure, Mahomes wasn't himself the whole game with the nagging injury. But Andy was being Andy. And Andy being Andy is enough to keep the Chiefs from making that next step, whether it be today or deep into the playoffs. Honestly, I'd respect the Chiefs more if they cut bait on their coach since his poor game management is sabotaging their hopes.

You haven't heard?

Mahomes can/is only successful bc of Andy.

Yes People actually believe that.

The same way Donovan McNabb was a brilliant mind because of Andy's influence. Oh, wait. Donovan didn't even know the overtime rules. Something tells me Mahomes is successful because he is a once in a generation talent, with Andy being helpful in his young quarterback's development but not irreplaceable.

Road to the SB is going to come through Foxborough.

Bingo. Can’t add much more to that sir.

Agreed. I don't see NE losing to anyone except maybe a freak win by the Jete or Ravens. The Eagles and Chiefs didn't look good at all today...

KC only had the ball for 11 min in the final three quarters. And for only 1:25 in the 4th quarter.

The Rams may be even bigger frauds. Incredible

You are making this sound like this is something so blatant when in reality people regularly want to lynch McDaniels in the GDT when we dare to kneel a half out unless we are up crazy numbers.
