I got to thinking on the math here and it's amazing that they will have played in 50% of the last 30 years worth of AFC title games. That's pure dominance across multiple eras, head coaches and QBs. There's a certain franchise out there that the media really wanted to crown but here we are, doing what they always do.

How lucky are we?

Patriots 20, Jaguars 6 (1996)
Patriots 24, Steelers 17 (2001)
Patriots 24, Colts 14 (2003)
Patriots 41, Steelers 27 (2004)
Colts 38, Patriots 34 (2006)
Patriots 21, Chargers 12 (2007)
Patriots 23, Ravens 20 (2011)
Ravens 28, Patriots 13 (2012)
Broncos 26, Patriots 16 (2013)
Patriots 45, Colts 7 (2014)
Broncos 20, Patriots 18 (2015)
Patriots 36, Steelers 17 (2016)
Patriots 24, Jaguars 20 (2017)
Patriots 37, Chiefs 31 OT (2018)
Patriots at Broncos (2025, upcoming)

If you are the type to go on the message boards of the fans of other teams, this factoid is likely to end any conversation and get you banned. Trolling like that isnt my thing but still I can’t think of anything sweeter than that.

Losing such a close game in 2015…. Shows that the 2015, pre injury bug, could’ve made a case for being the best of the lot. But they were bare bones in that game. And fell short by a safety…

And 2006 — they were exhausted and sick after the Division game in San Diego. Big lead then fell apart. And somewhere out in the world, Eric Alexander is still trying to catch Dallas Clark

that game still makes me sick

2 of their 4 losses were to the broncs. Hopefully, they can revenge those this year.

Not to mention the fact that they made it to the Super Bowl every other season for a nearly 20 year stretch

THAT is what pissed off all the other owners and prompted Goodell to declare war on Brady and the Pats

The owners expect that each of them will have their chance to raise the Lombardi given their investment and Goodell is supposed to be the one making sure there is "parity" - and if that means trumping up something to keep Brady on the bench for 4 games, or fabricate a reason to take away a #1 pick, he's shown he'll do it

"Every owner gets a trophy" is the real goal of Goodell but the Patriots have a way of mucking that up - let's hope the "FU Goodell" fest continues for another decade or two

15th consecutive AFC Championship game with at least one of the Chiefs or Patriots in it.

Such a shame Rodney got cheap shotted in the season finale because covering Clark was usually his role and he did it well. Of course, I doubt anyone outside of NE and maybe San Diego shed any tears for Rodney getting cheap shotted with his reputation

Please don’t say that out loud if the big brother league is watching

And for the first time since 2001, it feels like playing with house money. Anybody here predict this summer that they'd be in the AFC Championship game and favored?

They should've been in the 2005 & 2010 AFCCGs too.

Mods delete this thread. It's making it hard for me to justify dropping $5k on tickets to my significant other.

2011 - 2018.

Eight consecutive AFCCG appearances by the Patriots.

That is simply insane.
