Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Giants

Perfect example of why media analysts (former players or not) often need to be taken out back and have some sense slapped into them. Without naming the person, and being sure that he won't be the only one this applies to this week, allow me to paraphrase:

"Well, I wanted the team to play some of the guys who haven't been getting time. I wanted to see Meyers get more plays, and he did. I wanted to see Gunner get more plays, and he did. And I know Dorsett was missing and Gordon got injured. And I know the offensive line is struggling. And I know the TE play isn't what it needs to be. And I know that, with all of that, Brady was 31 for 41, with over 300 yards passing. And I know that the offense put up more than 400 yards today.

But something seems off about the offense. "

iu
I assume your speaking of Breer. I turned off the post game right after I heard that garbage dribble out of his mouth.

So is Gordon basically a serviceable WR at this stage in his career? I know he's been through a lot and is a good story, but he's a far cry from his Browns days.

The top end speed has clearly been gone his entire Patriots tenure and his route running might not be as otherworldly as it was in 2013 but he's still good enough that most teams should want him starting.

BTW, just to revisit something I mentioned in the game thread:

Cassel noted the same thing I did on the Brady pick, about what looks like it might have been a miscommunication.

"....But something seems off about the offense. "

This is similar to me doing the mental gymnastics required to convince myself that staying up until 1:30AM and drinking on a work night is a good idea -

"Well, I got a presentation tomorrow in front of the big wigs, I'm absolutely bogged down in work, deadlines are fast around the corner, I need to stay late tomorrow, I'm an alcoholic, I'm currently driving a vehicle...

....but I think I'm still gonna crack a cold one open right now."

My last 2 posts in this thread were vaguely negative which is unnecessary for a 35-14 win, so I'll also say some positives

It's tough, there's obviously SO much good to say about this 6-0 team but there's no way to ignore the way injuries are piling up on offense.

Reporter: Has the offense been good enough?

Brady: Huge pause....we'll see.

Hmm...

Same here. My favorite part of this site.

I wish there was some way we could get patfanken and Belichick to sit down together and go over plays, like he does with zolak. Belichick loves talking about football from the good old days, and patfanken is our favorite resident football dinosaur. That would be a nice offseason touch if Belichick would ever do it. I’d nominate him from this site for sure

I'd be worried about PFK fainting for having an orgasm from being in the same room as Belichick..

Indeed. In most cases the team would kick a fg between 40-50 yards. I feel like the team is going to punt or go for it with Nugent at kicker. That's assuming he isn't cut.
I saw it as more of a wind factor tonight but if we find them passing up 45 yd kicks consistently in decent conditions that is concerning.

It was Breer, but I didn't want to single him out, and I'm not trying to attack him individually. I've heard the same sort of thing from media people far too often, and I'm sure others besides Breer will be saying those sorts of things after this game.

BTW, just to revisit something I mentioned in the game thread:

The throw was a good 7-8 feet away from its intended target. Might have been the wind, but the spiral was tight.

Brady had 7 carries for 6 yards ... seems weird typing it.

Oh and 2 TD's

weird.

I hate not seeing games damnit I have no idea what went on. Did they just do a bunch of runs inside the 10?

I mean I guess it makes sense if even Gordon went down. At that point, you have not a single red zone threat. Your TE's are the closest thing to a waste of space at this point lol.

They lost Gordon (Knee), LaCosse (Ankle again Knee), and Johnson (unknown?). So they had to go back to the 2001 offense where they went Dink & Dunk with Edelman, Meyers, and Olszewski doing their best Brown, Patten, Johnson impersonation..

Yes, it was that bad.

He’d go out with his boots on, but yeah, that would be a real danger

The guy bulked up a little too much. Idk how much he weights these days .

Tommorrow

AB back in.

Noogent out.

Don't talk to me about W-L records unless it's 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 or 4-0 in the post-season.

How many of THOSE does AB have again?????
