Content Post OT-ish: The gambling thread

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.
They are probably going to be missing every offensive weapon they have. I don't see how they score outside of a fluke play. This one could get ugly quick. I wouldn't be shocked if the defense scores 14 points a lone. Not realistic to throw money at, but I think they could cover 30+ in this one. I would take anything under 20.

The weather is going to be horse bleep, I like the Pats against the spread but the O/U is what I am looking at now. At 41 I'm thinking under but not with tremendous confidence

How bad is the weather supposed to be?

Wind NNE 15 knots gusting to 25, driving rain at times throughout game expected

Giants team total under how bout that

Can I pick 'em or what?

Laughing with you. Had a rough week last week.
It was one of those games where if it was played at 3:00 on a Saturday, there's no way I would have bet it.... but since it is the only game tonight, I wanted to give myself a reason to watch it.....

When Iveas betting college heavily a few years back, I killed it on the small conference games. Since conferences like conf-USA, the Sunbelt, Mac etc... would play on Tuesday and Wednesday exclusively, I watched a lot of their games and was very familiar with those teams. And because I coached youth football on Saturdays, often times I knew more about FAU then I did about Iowa.

The bad lines in those conferences were/are easy to spot and they don't move as much on their Saturday games as they get less action.

Giants team total is 13 right now. I like that but if that goes under I almost feel like the game total will definitely go under too with this weather. I already have pats -16.5 in the second position of an if bet so I don’t know what I’m going to do. I really don’t envision the giants scoring more than 13.

over under is at 42.5

It has bumped since this morning, right now I am seeing it at 41.5-42. If I can get it at 42.5 I would definitely bite on the under

I'm actually thinking under, lol
I took the under last night, but I’m not feeling as confident about it today. The weather isn’t projecting to be as much as a factor as I had initially thought, and the number looks like it’s about to change to 42 by kickoff. I got it in at 41.5. I’m thinking it might go the other way, now.

I took the Pats -17 at -115...see how it goes

Oh yeah, there's definitely money to be made. Many are the (college) dollars I have won on the strength of fellas such as Ben Roethlisberger, Byron Leftwich, Timmy Chang and Colin Kaepernick. Northern Illinois was a big favorite of mine until Coach Doeren went to NC State. Some of my earliest gambling memories involved the late, great Coach Tiller at Wyoming before he went to Purdue.

Having said that... tonight I am big on Over 56 in Syracuse/NC State. Weather should be clear in Raleigh and Syracuse has a speedy hurry up offense. They either score very quick or punt very quick. Lot of possessions for each team. If it wins I'll change my avatar to:

My worst fears came true in that college game last night. Heavy running compared to most other college teams. Atleast the nats won so I made 8 bucks.

Yeah, Kap/Nevada was a big money maker. Troy when Ware was there, UCF when they had (pulling a blank on the RB)...etc...

Thanks for the tip, will look into tonights college games a bit later.

Ugh. Total is up to 42.5 now. I’m hoping that it pours all night. Lol.

So lots of confidence in the Pats at -17? I'm thinking of placing a not-negligible bet on that.
