Brown Goes Off, Takes Shots at Patriots Owner Robert Kraft on Twitter

His lack of emotional (or whatever) control isn’t anyone else’s problem, it’s his problem. I don’t even care if he was or wasn’t told not to text the woman before he sent that text.

Any employee of mine who sent a picture of a woman’s (or anyone’s, really) kids to the woman and his lowlife flunkies telling them to see what they can dig up on the woman is getting his ass fired for being scum. I don’t want someone who feels it’s fine to go around threatening people on my payroll, especially when he throws kids into the mix.

Try doing something like that and see what your own employer does when they find out about it. If you’re not fired you’re gonna get a pretty good reprimand, I bet.

Kraft was damned right to be “enraged” when he heard about this.

And Brown was ultimately fired because when Kraft asked BB “can you promise me this won’t happen again” BB could not. And if you’ve learned anything about how NE has operated for the past 20 years, you should not be he least bit surprised or put out by the cut. If someone on the team can’t submit to control, they are gone.

Another poster claiming it was just "dumb". And excusing it as "acting out of emotion".

No.

Once again, getting your posse together and group texting the woman is INTIMIDATION. She didn't even who the other three people were whom AB had included in the group text (and to whom he gave he cell number). As the above post linked to Klemko's twitter states, her attorney had to do a subsequent search and found out on was a convicted steroid and drug dealer. So THAT is whom AB gave her cell phone number to without her authorization an brought on the group text.

All the other previous allegations were done (or not done) BEFORE he was a Patriot. This group texting event was the first issue that occurred while a Patriot.

It is what it is. He's gone. If you're so upset at the Patriots and so enamored of Antonio Brown - - it is a FREE COUNTRY, BUB. By all means do what you care to do to support him however you choose. Punish the Patriots in the only way you can. Don't support them financially. Buy Antonio's new jersey from his new team's fan shop (if he does ever play again). People can vote with their wallets. It's in your power.

.

Lots of good points! Not saying dumb was an excuse, but I am pointing out that he didn't arbitrarily pick some random person out of his phone book and decide to tell her how poor she was. Would he have done this if she didn't contribute to his current smear campaign? Just considering both sides.

Anyways - I can buy that the Patriots decided he was not smart enough to stay out of trouble for things they didn't expressly forbid him from doing, but I can't buy that they cut him for violating something they told him after the fact.

I think it's safe to say AB was and is no Patriot. We're on to the Bills.

According to Sportrac AB has made 70 million + in the game of football...

He is still looking for a job, nothing quite like bashing and trying to embarrass an owner to add to his already stained resume..

This is not over, another stupid move, in a series of stupid moves.. stay tuned. AB is a toxic male, who has little self control.

"Toxic male" let's leave the post-modernist theory out of this. He's clearly got some mental health issues and the Patriots couldn't manage it anymore than anyone else could. We don't need to bring in social science to this.

Why because this fanbase has it's share of mental midgets? Nah, Ian has this nailed.

Nailing it or not isn't the issue. I wasn't making a comment on the quality of the article (if I had been, I would have.)

What happened: Brown once again had an attack of compulsiveness, lashing out at "the man." We have a choice about whether to react, or just ignore. At this point, I'm saying ignore would have been better for the board. Given what Brown said, to react just resurrects all of the tangential, narrow minded, argumentative, and sometime hateful nonsense that interrupts what should otherwise be an enjoyment of unprecedented football success.

It is not social science, it is reality, AB is one of today's men who have no sexual boundaries and believe no matter what they do is right.. it is always someone else who does stuff way worse than they did.. false equivalencies abound in their world, instead of being silent or taking responsibility for what they did..

Or, instead of slandering "today's men", you could, you know, deal with his personal issues. What you're doing right now is very repugnant.

The conditioning is real.

The woman he threatened was the painter, who never sued him for anything other than the $2000 she was owed for her work,

The painter was one of the few people he did pay for their work

That's an extremely broad and lazy generalization: There are more and more men and women who are taking on battles within themselves than ever before in a far deeper and more respectful way. Much also depends on the men and women around them and whether they enable or actually support the long-term health of the person

Do you know who else is "one of today's men"? Josh Gordon.

Think deeply about the Josh Gordon situation. The enablers are just as at fault as the person. And the people around someone can be heroes. Everyone has a choice.

To your point, it IS also "someone else" who IS at fault here: The enablers as much as the principal - - maybe more. From the agents to the teams to the hangers on to the vendors (who later claim non-payment when they went in knowing this guy's history) to yes, the fans who turn a blind eye to what is patently obvious who support and reward selfish, "edgy", cool players.

Not quite sure what post-modernist theory means or if it means anything in this discourse.. or maybe made up crap.

There are men today who believe that whatever they did, despite evidence, it was not wrong.. then there is the group who band together as if they were some tribe wandering in the wilderness believing there are women out there that exist for one reason, extortion of men..

"Boys cannot be boys" forever, somewhere they need to be men who do not violate sexual boundaries, treat women with respect, do not hurt people and if they cross those lines accept responsibility and vow to make changes..

Can't believe there are Patriot players that are AB enablers. Messy must be going ape sh%^t, lmao. What say you messy, should they drink the JJones kool aid?

I doubt these players agree with his actions (no one does), but they can't possibly be happy with the way the NFL is treating him given the total lack of charges he is facing. Making decisions about a players future based on 2+ year old stories (trainers 1st 2 and painters accusations) is troubling at best. Again, I am not buying AT ALL he was released because of some texts, but if he was, that would be even worse.

Do not think Josh Gordon fits here, addictions are another completely different subset.. many will argue that addictions are inherited or part of one's genetic make up. As far as I know Gordon has not hurt anyone except himself... from what I know is he suffers from the dual dx of depression and addiction issues. Dual diagnoses are harder to treat.

From what I have seen Gordon does not flash his every going on on social media and on those platforms refuses to take responsibility for his behavior, he seems more to celebrate his milestones than deny his issues.

AB was definitely enabled by many preceding the Pats, Pittsburgh must of known, Mayock/Gruden had to know and from all reports the Pats did not know initially.. they should have gotten rid of him as soon as the second set of allegations became known. Initially I thought it was a great signing, but as more was revealed that soured quickly. People want to compare him to Dillon, Moss etc. but the most appropriate comparison is Aaron Hernandez who also could not take responsibility for his behavior and only got bolder as time went on.

For AB no one is responsible for his toxic behavior except AB... fairly confident that his atty, agent and the Pats all told him to cease and desist any form of his behavior prior to his most recent texts to the alleged victim, but AB knew best.

Patriots react to release of Antonio Brown, including how team remained focused on Jets

Who the F are "plenty of players" is that two, three or even less or more... this anonymous source crap drives me nuts.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Maybe you are still stuck on the other thread?

The topic being discussed is how the NFL is handling two different cases, one concerning an Owner that is facing criminal charges, the other is a player facing a civil complaint.

Remove all names, call them Owner X and Player Y if that will help you.

It won't because you confuse anything with the name AB in it as advocating for the guy. That is not hilarious but rather sad.
The NFL in these cases were not punishing anyone. My guess is neither Kraft nor AB would have got punished if they let things play out and die down. One kept his mouth shut the other is a runaway freight train.

Whether you believe one is more right or wrong than the other. AB is not in the hot water because of the legal implications. He is in the hot water because of the helmet issue, the taping the coach, threatening a GM and calling him a CRACKER, threatening a accuser via text.

Any business with a brand that has a employee that gets in trouble may be able to ride it out with him/her. When that employee continues to cause harm to the brand then he/she must go

Now with his attacks of Kraft and Ben etc. The NFL is going to want him gone forever. It is a business. Business’s protect future earnings. Fans don’t really care how the NFL protects its shield. But they despise someone making millions while kicking and screaming that they are being mistreated

I hear you on the anonymity. I would guess there are more than a handful (probably in the dozens) because there are 2 things men in general don't like: 1. Lose your job over unconfirmed accusations; and 2. People f$^ing with your $$, especially guaranteed $$.

Again, BS on him being released over sending the texts. Kraft did his buddy Rodger a favor by releasing him.

Guy needs a support group or support army. He's living in his own head and it's not good. He goes from thanking the Pats and being positive on Friday to trashing the Pats and the league and threatening to burn it down.
Goes from "manning up" to being a "spoiled brat".
