We didn’t win because of josh Gordon.

You are now reducing this to platitudes to deflect from the argument.

So now I can argue every player on the patriots is great because we don’t want players to play well we just win?

You’ve created the most circular argument ever.

Players play well and we win. As I have tried to explain to you. Playing well does not mean big gaudy stats. But you know this, or at least should. However it destroys your argument.

17 WRs and 3 TEs had 1000 yards last year.

I think being a 1000 yard receiver is a little more than okay. Especially when you factor in the yards per reception Gordon had.
Gordon didn’t have 1000 yards.
20th guy out of 32 teams is the definition of OK to me. Maybe you want to use a different term but we should be able to agree that 1000 receiving yards, which Gordon didn’t have, isnt excellent.

Nobody said he did. But you have claimed people have.

He was on pace for it. Do you understand the difference?

Gordon’s contribution is largely measured in stats.
That’s what he does.
But my argument doesn’t need stats.
Take them away.
When you watched patriots games last year was josh Gordon dominant? Excellent? Did he abuse defenses? Was he impossible to cover? Was he a key to our offense?

You know THAT destroys your argument so you limp off to “we won so they are all great” territory.

Yes one is an accomplishment the other is way to make some one sound like they accomplished more than they did

Nobody said he did. They are just limping him i with those who did as if he actually did.

He was on pace for 1000 yards. Do I care how he did it? If he dosent go off in Chicago do we win that game. Do we get a Bye?

Its sad that you dont think Edelman's 5th year here when he had 1000 yards was not an excellent season. Everyone else thought it was

But what good is having 2000 receiving yards if you team cant even make the playoffs

The team has always been about the match up and not the stats.

How many teams have won a SB with a "stud" big yard WR

We like SB win here...not seasons with big WR stats and that is why we dont have lots of years with big WR stats and lots of SB wins

You know this, you are just trying to avoid it for some reason.
So your argument is that you agree with me that Gordon was not excellent but we don’t need excellence?

If he played better we would have won more games.

I dont agree with you. He was excellent and you know that excellent dosnt always show up on the box score. You know this or at least should.

Anyway, I am done. Not interested in going back and forth on this. If you want to put up a poll and see what the site thinks, you can. If you dont, I understand why...

Welcome back Josh Gordon! Now let’s argue about you for almost 40 pages.

He was kind of excellent against Chicago. He was excellent against GB. He was good against Miami.
He wasn’t a very big factor in any other games.
I expect more than that to say a guy was excellent. I expect a lot more than that to say he was 2013 Gordon.

I dont agree with you. He was excellent and you know that excellent dosnt always show up on the box score. You know this or at least should.
What excellence did he have that didn’t show up in a box score? What do WRS do that make them EXCELLENT that doesnt show up in a box score and how did Gordon show that?

Anyway, I am done. Not interested in going back and forth on this. If you want to put up a poll and see what the site thinks, you can. If you dont, I understand why...
Go ahead put it up. Was josh Gordon one of the 6 best WRs in the nfl last year.

You don’t even believe it yourself.

Out of all the WRS in the nfl last year you rank Josh Gordon among the EXCELLENT, elite player in 2018. He was one of the few very best players at his position that year. Come on. That’s ridiculous.

I hope he is this year though.

Finger crossed Josh Gordon.Stay healthy and help the team in pursuing another trophy.

Jesus, I hope our defense has half the stamina for playing that Andy does for posting.

When I was here earlier, we were enjoying a fun and happy thread. I left to enjoy my Friday evening, and I've come back to what has become a train wreck of a thread.

Oh, well.

Go, Flash. Go!

You would think it gets to a point where embarrassment sets in but nope.... still arguing for the sake of arguing well into the night.

Let's not get carried away guys..............This does NOT guarantee a superbowl trip........... That being said who wants to host the AFC championship game party?
