Well he just wrote down I'm I was thinking when I finally saw what happened on the 2nd day.So you're a glass-half-empty guy, eh?
That was in the context of their discussion that they think it’s likely...NFLN pretty much confirmed. "It's not fair" if the Patriots get Rudolph. Lol
There very likely isn't a way to replace Gronk (at least in the short term). But a TE who can block and catch 45(dare I dream 55)? I'll take it! This TE takes on a significant meaning. A D has to respect both parts of the O and it has an important domino effect.
Pats have 6.55m in cap space before signing their rookies. Rudolph makes 7.275m, so they would have to tear up his contract for him to even be able to sign with the Patriots.
But I've seen weirder things happen.
Day 3 is gonna be interesting!
You never heard of Damien Harris? That explains a lot.Well he just wrote down I'm I was thinking when I finally saw what happened on the 2nd day.
It's a marvel that they do so well. They had their pick of any of the 3 TE's that we've all talked about the past 2 months, ANY of whom we'd have been happy with and INSTEAD (and I'm trying to keep it together here) we took a RB we had ZERO NEED FOR, and a OT who while looks like a decent player but was a pure luxury pick that was taken instead of a OBVIOUS desperate need.
THIS is why I hate the draft and hate that once again I was snookered into following it again. It is simply a horrible, frustrating, and exhausting exercise that I regret EVERY year.
Somehow I guess they will continue to build this team over the next few month and will cobble together a team that will be competitive and fun to watch once the season gets here.
But the fact remains that EVERY one of our division rivals improved their teams significantly and it will be hard and hard to overcome the talent discrepancies that continue to grow among our major rivals. Fortunately football is a unique game where the most talent doesn't always win. We saw that clearly this playoff season where the least elite talent won the championship. But that gap seems to be growing and winning will get harder and harder, and this draft didn't do anything in my mind to help that impression.
So tell me again why we didn't draft a TE in the 3rd round, because we needed another RB I never heard of prior to his name being mentioned as our pick, instead of great TE prospects we've talked about for 3 months.
I'm going to need a pill to get to sleep tonight.
I believe the problem is we fans trying to fit our square pegs into BB's round holes. BB views personnel acquisition in terms of very specific complementary role players who are smart and have leadership qualities -- not in terms of talent level. He builds teams with a level of sophistication nobody else has a grip on.Well he just wrote down I'm I was thinking when I finally saw what happened on the 2nd day.

Gronk was a unicorn. We were all spoiled.Look at the TEs drafted in the first two rounds over the last half decade. Only one had the catch production you're after (Even Engram) and that guy is a terrible blocker. Maybe two if you count Eric Ebron but he was only good for 25 catches as a rookie and he can't block either.
Most dont follow the draft until a month or a few weeks before. Have an idea of what they want, get their opinions from others & end up disappointed. You never heard of Damien Harris? That explains a lot.

Fair enough, but Damien Harris isn't exactly an obscure player. If people want to complain, they should be informed on what they're complaining about. Most dont follow the draft until a month or a few weeks before. Have an idea of what they want, get their opinions from others & end up disappointed.
1)WR was a huge need. I'm not a WR/RB guy in Rd1 but our group was absurdly thin.
2)Swing Tackle addressed.
3)Easily one of the deeper RB groups in the league for a team that wants to run the ball
4)Rush/Edge position addressed.
Still have plenty of picks for a roster w few holes.
They could have used some to get Lawrence. They could have used some to get Isabella. Instead, they went out and got a 23rd CB for the 90 man roster and a WR who's had problems getting free from coverage at the college level.
No offense to the two players, who may work out wonderfully and who I'm not judging as prospects, but I'm hating this draft right now. If I were watching it on TV, I'd probably have thrown something through the screen by now.
And, Rochrist, I don't give a **** if you disagree.
I have done it thank to your help and @reamer @BaconGrundleCandy and many others on that board. Your knowledge and great analysis led me to it.Thanx guys@oceansizer Congrats. You did something no-one else has done
