FMIA’s Non-Mock NFL Draft: What Each Team Should Do in First RoundI’d eliminate New England; just don’t sense the interest there. I’d all but eliminate the Chargers; Philip Rivers seems primed to play at least two more years, and they just gave Tyrod Taylor $6 million guaranteed over the next two years.
Peter King thinks the Patriots are not a player for Josh.

I'm leaning towards Grier Jones or RosenI’m not sold on any of the QBs this year. I say wait a year and see if the Pats can con some stupid team out of their 2020 first rd pick.
Brett Farve was awful for the Falcons. Was on the bench his first season.
I am not this biggest Rosen fan but he is better than any QB in this class (Pats fit).
OK Cousins, here is one that will make you think. What if Mayock dangles Carr to the Pats? He's only 28. Let's say Brady is 2 more years. Carr will be still young to take the reins. He's signed until 2022 at a QB realistic price. Buy.....if indeed TB is out after this year, our pants are not around our ankles.
I really want to be right so I’m leaning towards all of the above or none at all.I'm leaning towards Grier Jones or Rosen
Fair assessment. How would we get Mariotta? What makes him a Pats fit ? And please dont answer this yet again with stats or vague.
I'd rather get Mariota on the cheap. If you can get him to stop taking unnecessary shots his durability issues will disappear over night. He has a quick release and sound decision making in terms of risk assessment. His biggest weakness seems to be arm strength which wouldnt be much of an issue in a McDaniels offense especially because his accuracy on intermediate throws is perfectly fine.
His stats look below average but to me that is a product of him being injured and in bad schematic fits (two years of exotic smashmouth with Mularkey ?).
I am not saying he will necessarily turn into an elite passer here but I think he would fit our offense almost perfectly and add another dimension to it with a handful of designed runs. Essentially he could be what people wanted Brissett to become.
And above all he could be available for really cheap after this season minimizing the risk.
You can't compare what he would do with that coaching staff vs ours.Josh Rosen did not improve as the season progressed, he actually got worse. I do not think he has a good future in this league.
Of course you can compare them. You can hope he might do better in our system, you can hope that our coaches might do a better job, but who knows. There is a good chance he will get better the longer he is in the league, but it is also perfectly reasonable to judge him on how he played last year. You can't compare what he would do with that coaching staff vs ours.

I think they like Jones.
