Gronk nearly traded to DET in April

Great thread...lol..

yep and pats almost traded Brady too. And they almost didn't resign Edelman. And ... And ... Pats almost moved to St Louis... And ... And ... Bills are almost blowing out the Vikings... Oh wait .. they are! It's 24-0..!!

That same exact team, more or less, had gone 16-0 the year before and they played one of the softest schedules in league history.

I mean, Belichick is the best coach ever, but that season was hardly evidence of it.

Trading Gronk is insanity.
Doesnt it kind of depend on what he got for him? Detroit has some good players that could have been involved. That said I think it was just a leverage play by BB.

What bugs me from that book by the New Jersey idiot recently is that he quoted a Patriot assistant coach who believed Brady was nothing special as a QB. I certainly hope this was just that idiot's idea, and that it isn't pervasive inside the coach's offices, because if it is, these guys have overgrown their britches.

No. There's nothing Detroit could have given the Patriots that would be equivalent to Gronk.

They weren't getting two 1st rounders. They'd have been lucky to get one. And last I looked, draft picks don't win football games.
I am not saying they were or were not. But they did have draft capital which was worth more than Gronk is. You said they had nothing. It was false.

And last time I looked you dont have to wait to make any picks traded to you. You can wheel them for a player right away.

Chris Simms. Next...

If Bill had it his way, Gronk would be gone. Let that sink in.

Time to start thinking about letting this guy live out his final senile years at home with Linda and Nike. Not letting him continue blowing up the team, and throwing away the twilight years of the greatest QB to ever step on the field, who has been taking pay cuts for this bullsh*t.

He also would have traded Brady and kept JG.

So next week we would have been looking forward to Etling throwing passes to Patterson, Hogan, and whatever CB has the best WR skillset.

Belichick benches Butler in the Super Bowl.
Belichick asks himself, where do I go from here to one-up a decision like that?
Belichick thinks, I know, I'll trade Gronk to Detroit!

Stop trolling

I love Bill to death but ever since he didn't get his way with Brady he's done nothing but set this team back.

Trading Jimmy G for only a 2nd while other teams offered a lot more.
Benching Butler in the SB, this decision will be attached to him til the day he's alive
letting go of Lewis and Amendola
Trading Brandin Cooks
Extending Mason to a huge contract
Almost traded Gronkowski
Not upgrading the defense

Brady has never taken a pay cut. Not a single one of his contract extensions or restructures has resulted in him pocketing less money. They money has been moved around, but he has insisted on and received more total guaranteed $. No cuts.

So Gronk directly confirmed tonight he threatened retirement to block a trade.
