Detroit has some good players that could have been involved. That said I think it was just a leverage play by BB.That same exact team, more or less, had gone 16-0 the year before and they played one of the softest schedules in league history.
I mean, Belichick is the best coach ever, but that season was hardly evidence of it.
Trading Gronk is insanity.

2 First rounders inst equivalent? No. There's nothing Detroit could have given the Patriots that would be equivalent to Gronk.

I am not saying they were or were not. But they did have draft capital which was worth more than Gronk is. You said they had nothing. It was false. They weren't getting two 1st rounders. They'd have been lucky to get one. And last I looked, draft picks don't win football games.
Chris Simms. Next...What bugs me from that book by the New Jersey idiot recently is that he quoted a Patriot assistant coach who believed Brady was nothing special as a QB. I certainly hope this was just that idiot's idea, and that it isn't pervasive inside the coach's offices, because if it is, these guys have overgrown their britches.
2+2 = 10Brady has never taken a single pay cut.
If Bill had it his way, Gronk would be gone. Let that sink in.
Time to start thinking about letting this guy live out his final senile years at home with Linda and Nike. Not letting him continue blowing up the team, and throwing away the twilight years of the greatest QB to ever step on the field, who has been taking pay cuts for this bullsh*t.

Trading Jimmy G for only a 2nd while other teams offered a lot more.
Brady has never taken a pay cut. Not a single one of his contract extensions or restructures has resulted in him pocketing less money. They money has been moved around, but he has insisted on and received more total guaranteed $. No cuts.2+2 = 10
McIdiot. Jesus, go to bed.I love Bill to death but ever since he didn't get his way with Brady he's done nothing but set this team back.

Benching Butler in the SB, this decision will be attached to him til the day he's alive
letting go of Lewis and Amendola
Trading Brandin Cooks
Extending Mason to a huge contract
Almost traded Gronkowski
Not upgrading the defense
