Seems like a rather crass reaction to suggest that this could've been seen coming, as if Garoppolo's durability was a legitimate concern, because I didn't hear this narrative until today. This was his second injury in his career, no? The first of which was relatively minor, the second of which was freak, non-contact situation.

Garappolo's team was trailing late in the game and he was attempting to gain several extra yards. The injury didn't occur as a result of a hit he took (or exposed himself to), but rather because of an entirely unfortunate and unlucky misstep. This could have happened to anyone.

Maybe not a surprising development given that football is inherently violent, but certainly not an expected one (in my opinion). Again, this could have happened to anyone playing any sport.

Sure a [pocket qb can get hit and rip an ACL Brady did, BUT when you give these mobile QBS ginormus contracts, man, thats some risky business.

Agreed, Vick, VYoung, Rodgers, Wentz etc.. Sure they're exciting players to watch but are they really as valuable? I would say the risk for injury due to their style of play should be a knock on their value.

ACLs are often called things like unlucky misstep when they're actually the product of massive torque when the knee's not properly aligned. "Nobody touched him!" is the comment we often hear, but it's not like it's happening while you're just walking down the street.

He could not stay healthy for more than 6 quarters when Brady was suspended. Kept taking unnecessary risks. Continued this despite acknowledging that this is not clever and again screwed his team with an unnecessary risk.

It was only a matter of time. Sucks that it had to be so serious.

This has always been the biggest question mark with Jimmy G. If he wants to survive in this league, he needs to learn when to get rid of the ball & live on to the next play.

I was watching the Boys and Hawks n missed the developing story the first time didn't think anything of it but caught it the second time saw it I was like oh sh*ttt, that's crazy. I was rooting for there downfall just cause we're tied with them with 5 Championships but obviously not in those regards.

yeah I was watching the game and they were ralling to comeback from a 25 point deficit to 7, but he got sacked twice on that drive and tried to make a play that wasn't there, the first down was not there and he got his ACL popped and his bell rung. He is the QB of the franchise and they made a huge investment on him, sometimes you have to accept a L, your defense is a swiss cheese.
