Wtf happened with Brissett deal?

I watched some of the Niners/Colts game to check in on JG. Jimmy looked pretty good, but his mechanics, mainly his footwork, looked sloppy and he made a lot of off balanced throws. Something to keep an eye on.

I watched enough of Brissett to remember why we traded him. He has a very awkward throwing motion and his highly inaccurate. If the Seahawks want to trade a two for him, God bless them. In my opinion, Dorsett was pretty good value for Brissett.

I think it's pretty evident that Brissett is mediocre - poor garbage. No better than whatever the Jets, and especially Buffalo have been having at QB these past few years.

I honestly don't understand why some fans on here, are acting like we traded away future HoFs or something. I like G, but that boy ain't close to Brady. He needs about several more years to hone his skills, even then he'll be more of a Matt Cassel than Brady. Brady in decline would still be the equivalent or better, and cheaper version of Jimmy.

I'm still a fan of G though. I just believe G is a product of the media's obsession to dethrown Brady. I guess Rodgers and Wilson ain't working out for them...

Well at least Jimmy is good-looking, in addition to non-existent defenses in the NFC, SBs that will be handed to him, and the porn star he meets with, this should get him that Hollywood crossover appeal that would allow him to be forever compared to Thomas until he reaches 5.

Well, considering the Seahawks just landed Brett Hundley for a 6th round pick, we can probably put to bed any belief the Seahawks truly offered a 2nd for Brissett and were turned down. One could certainly argue that Jacoby has played better but not 4 rounds better.

all this chitter chatter about a QB we traded away before last season started, and we still don't have answers for the biggest bone headed move in superbowl history.

I’d say they are as close to equal value as it gets.

You have answers you just don’t accept them.

Oh we have an answer: "I screwed up, but it's my way or the highway and I'll never admit it, and you can all pound sand."
The good thing about football is each year offers us the "reset" button.

The funniest thing about this take is that there is no “my way or the highway” issue here. There was no extraneous reason thstvwould make Belichick want to bench butler. There was nothing to “teach a lesson about”.
This bizarre epic search for an ulterior motive is pointless and has yet to turn up anything.

I kinda noticed that too. Knowing how the NEP and TB12 are maniacal about fundamentals, etc, I wonder if Kyle is running too loose of a ship out there to keep Jimmy disciplined about his game.

Thats her agenda. Been that way since early February.

Brissett stats this preseason.. 27-44. 61%. 327 yards. 0 td, 0 picks

The zero picks stands out as game manager.

In SF game he hit 50 yarder that led to short TD plunge.

Noted during broadcast was he ranked 4th in league last year in 60 yd plus throws. So , good on deep throws.

He rushed for a few first downs. Shed sacks with his size and mobility.

"mediocre-poor garbage" ..? Irsay stated he wouldn't trade Brissett for 1st round draft pick. And declined 2nd round offer from Seattle, per league sources. (Not that Owner Irsays opinion means anything.... Lol. )

Some people have dismissed the Seattle report as untrue. Hmm.. why would sources lie about that? Doesn't seem like anyone needs to make up a trade offer .

It happened ... so maybe it doesn't fit narrative going around since people who are actually smarter at football that work in the NFL for a living have different opinion ? . How is this possible .?

We’re talking about Ben Volin. Assumptions of competence and integrity may be valid with other reporters, but not here.

So the Colts GM himself was lying when he said no such trade offer was made?

Who gives a **** ? He would still be complete garbage here. You keep talking about JB but I am not sure anyone understands your point. Do you have one ?

Yes.. point is to honestly assess former pats QB performance, since that's kinda the title of the thread. Couple guys have bashed him so my post is a counterpoint.

I think he's just covering his ass since it's not a deal and talks are meant to be discreet.

You're going to have a very hard time convincing anyone the Seahawks tried unsuccessfully to get Brissett for a 2nd round pick, but then landed Hundley for a 6th.

Earlier you asked why sources would lie about a trade offer. Well, do you ever pay attention about the time free agency starts? We're constantly hit with stories that turn out to be false. Suh to the Pats was all but a done deal back in March.

Ok....your post did not sound like you've resetted yet.

Did we just come close to using irsay,a man that needs his drugs and pills in order to function, to defend the idea that brissett isn’t mediocre to poor garbage?
