Looks like Eric Decker retired

Consider it a blessing. The true danger with Decker was that NE was going to keep a useless guy around purely out of desperation.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Bill told him that he was in the bottom 10 and had no shot of making the roster, which prompted this decision.
I bet that was exactly what happened.

Out of respect for Decker he told him he would not make the team and wanted to give him a chance to catch on somewhere else. Maybe he and Josh told him he is on his last legs as a player and would have a tough time making a club.

Maybe in his heart of hearts Decker knew that but needed someone he trusted to confirm it.

Actually both can be correct, depending on context. The corps refers to all the WRs. The core refers to the main two or three. Say, Hogan, Edelman and Patterson are the core receivers while all of them with Dorsett Lucien Berrios and MCarron are the corps....
You suggest he was trying to refer to the core of the corps? I don't think so.

So.... nobody is going to suggest giving the Saints a 7th for Austin Carr? ;)

The WR corps could shape up to be pretty good if Patterson and Dorsett emerge...

I am hopeful that Dorsett turns into Jabbar Gaffney 2.0. Both came to the Pats into the season/preseason and both were unimpressive during their first season. Although Gaffney did have a really good playoffs for the Pats his first season although they needed him more in 2006 than Dorsett last year.

So far Dorsett looks like he is in line for a second year turnaround like Gaffney did now that he has a full offseason to get acclimated to the offense. But time will tell.

Patriots best wide receivers available before season

I was looking for an article that had a listing of receivers out there before the roster cut downs and here's an interesting one. Maybe our best bet is to get someone that has experience with the Patriots playbook because it drives some receivers to retirement. Just my two cents.

Something about your choice of screen name is a tad suspicious.

I’ll rephrase it then. Because of their injuries and how they don’t match up well with the Panthers, I think they would’ve lost.

Carolina is not a good matchup for us. i agree we would have lost in 2015 with the injuries we had that year.

It’s funny that people on here automatically assume because the Broncos beat them, the Pats would’ve beat them.

Oh crap, this is terrible. The Pats might end up only going 13-3 or gasp, 12-4. What a waste of a season.

Relax guys. Brady, Belichick, Gronk will lead this team through the first 4 till Jules is back and honestly from there, it should be business as usual.

Ok, but you must have missed how Carolina played that day.

What makes you think that? They don’t match well against them. And they are 0-2 now against the Cam Newton led Panthers.

The Broncos D single handily won that game.
I’m basing it on the way that Carolina turtled.

And also because I’m a homer X infinity.

Denver’s D had a lot to do with it. You can’t assume the same happens against the banged up Pats. Even if they were healthy, Carolina is still a bad matchup for them.
