yeah I usually go with Chatham over the "analysis" of any media people. He actually knows whats going on because he has been in meetings where exactly this has been discussed by BB & co. Either way, he obviously knows better than all of us here. I don't think there is any question about that.

look, we carried Dorsett on this thread for the whole year and that was ok. but at this point he should F'in step up. this is not isolated case of his indecisiveness, lack of confidence, toughness (you can also feel it in his routes - 50/50 balls with him feel more like 0/100) - and he was indecisive as hell there whatever Chatman might say - just imagine Jules, White, Dola, even Bark & Hogs in the same situation.

he got every chance this preseason, from both Josh and Tom - but this is not how #3 WR should look (#2 in first 4 games) esp. one that doesnt play ST, doesnt return.

while losing Wynn hurts . losing MM looks to be the most impactful so far (hopefully it stays that way)

(btw - its a pity they didn't keep Kumerow on PS last season)

Yeah we will not agree here. The thing is I dont even see any indecisiveness when I look at this play. He catches the ball, turns immediately to the inside (no hesitation) and realizes he is screwed because Brown is not there to block the inside route for him. Then he tries to adjust but the play is already over.

The only way this play works is if his route is sharper (and doesnt lose that much time until he turns) or he grows eyes on the back of his helmet so he knows before turning that Brown will go for the outside block. But unless the play design was to go outside (and I see no indication of that given where Thuney was blocking) I just can't fault him for turning to the inside.

I remember a big concern with Bentley when he was drafted was his slow 40 time.

They did say he played much quicker in actual game action, but I was skeptical since that was at the college level.

They sure weren’t lying, he looks quick enough to me.

Mason is approaching overrated status usually reserved for Logan Mankins.

I’ve felt for some time that they should think about replacing him. His pass protection is not where it needs to be. People here don’t agree.

Was it Mason or Thuney who gave up the sack on the final drive in the Superbowl...I thought it was Mason, my brother says Thuney.

I'm not sure if he's overated, but I definitely wouldn't pay him like a top 2 or 3 guard in the league.

Mason. He's had issues in pass pro. But on the move, he's probably the best pulling guard in the NFL. His run blocking is very good. I'd have no problem with them extending Mason, as I believe he still has upside and could become a more complete player in time. I'd also understanding moving in a different direction. His contract is probably going to be more than they want to pay on the OL. Might be better to just draft a replacement when he leaves in FA.

Andrews' improvement by the year is amazing . Adding 15 yds (with a little help of our overrated friend Mason) . and the last play: TD on Brady? White? Or is it on friend Mason?

Couldn’t agree more. Both on his play and also on the loss to the WRs. The only thing we can hope for is that he somehow steps up due to an increase in targets over the first 4 games, and he’s lucky that the group is hurting depth-wise or he wouldn’t even make the damn team.

As @reamer said, it was Mason. He also gave up a sack in SB 51. That's two straight SBs where his pass protection is questionable. I'm hoping Wynn can take his spot in 2019. His run blocking may be good, but in our offense, you got to protect Brady.

So you are saying PFF (watching every snap every game every angle) has no clue rating Mason as best pass blocker of the Patriots last season?
