EDIT: Sony Michel to miss some time after minor knee procedure

A (or multiple) torn ligament(s) would have been about as bad of news you could ask for.

Lombardi talked about the bone on bone a week before the draft. Did nobody take him serious? But according to most medical evaluators this is not an immediate issue but about longevity and if we get 3-4 years out of him at the level he is able to play thats good enough.

If his knee is bone on bone, and that is
the cause for the fluid, this draining procedure will happen multiple times this year. It will also be a regular occurrence moving forward. There are procedures nowadays that can help with this (PRP, stem cell, etc), but an early 20's NFL RB who is already bone on bone in his knee...not a good thing.

Remember when Austin Powers lost his mojo? That’s what it looks like to get fluid removed from the knee.

I'm not going into full hands-into-my-head mold, but it is troubling that it is (1) a knee injury given the past history (hello, Malcolm Mitchell) and (2) that is occurred right at the beginning of essential camp activities for a rookie, which will necessarily delay his integration into the offense in the early part of the season.

In addition, a "minor" knee injury requires an ice pack and a a little bit of rest. A procedure to drain a knee, while "minor" in the scope of knee procedures, isn't typically reflective of a "minor" issue (but is also doesn't reflect a "major" one). And the whole "and it probably helped him by clearing up old issues" that Reiss reported from his source sounds a bit like spin.

BUT let's see how this plays out before he gets flung into the Easley/ Mitchell camp.
Fingers (and toes) crossed. Hopes up.

The thing for me is that, with White, Burkhead, Gillislee and Hill (and Bolden as ST/backup), the Pats are still likely to end up between 7th and 10th in rushing yards and in the Top-5 in rushing TDs.

Even though Michel was a "high-risk" pick from the injury history perspective, he was really a low-risk pick for this season with the potential for high future value.

The "bone-on-bone" thing, which only Lombardi reported, was denied by Michel and has never been confirmed by anyone.
Sounds like Lombardi was, once again, throwing spaghetti at the wall.
He used to be good. Can't trust anything he says anymore.

He is not having his knee drained for fun

I hope Cat like quickness can be experienced when healing an injury.

Good news if you are Jeremy Hill or Mike Gillislee, I suppose.

Belichick must not know that Gillislee is still on the team.

He just keeps showing up everyday.

Reminds me of that basketball movie with Robbie Benson .

Well ,duh! He's got a history of knee problems. Those don't include any bone-on-bone issues.

My bad. There was a month between games. Maybe hr didn't miss any games.
Still not sure what you’re talking about. The Oklahoma game was 1/1/18 and the championship game vs Alabama was literally one week later on 1/8/18. I don’t think he has ever missed a game at Georgia due to his knee. His major knee injury happened in high school (junior season ?, won the high school championship as a senior) In fact, Chubb had a major knee injury at Georgia.

BB won’t think this way but fans can - to first approximation I don’t care what happens after 3-4 years from now because once BB and Brady are gone (which I think will happen by the for sure) it’s not going to matter much who the RB is because unless they get lucky on a QB real soon, they’re not going anywhere anyways.

Wow. No confidence in the Etling Gun??
