Still not good, but if you read the source article he broke into the house of a woman he had a previously relationship with and the “kidnapping” was him pulling her back in the house when she tried to leave.
Clearly he has issues but it isn’t what I first thought when I saw kidnapping.

Recently a clerk at a gas station in Springfield was arrested because he chased after a shoplifter. He hit the culprit with his car. Besides "assault with attempt to murder" they were charging him with kidnapping.

This is the fake kidnapping kind of charge, from what I read on PFT. That's why it gets paired with false imprisonment of the "You're not going anywhere until I'm done talking/I get my ...." variety.
