Well he's a Patriot, so let's look at some of the big plays he made in college and enjoy picturing him doing things just like that but in a Patriots uniform now. :)

His best play was this one against Alabama. Amazing balance and speed.

I love highlight #7. Shows excellent cuts and tackle breaking

He's stronger than Kevin Faulk
Faster than Dillon
Not as great a pass catcher as Marshall Faulk

I see a lot of CURTIS MARTIN in Michel :)

How are his knees, long term wise? That was the concern, especially for a RB that needs to cut and run sideways...

I recall hearing on NFL Network or ESPN that some teams viewed the situation with his knees as a longevity issue, although for teams like the Pats who merely want a solid 4-5 years out of a RB for cheap, it should be fine.

Also, what's with all these knee issues in Georgia RBs? Chubb, Gurley, Michel...

I think it's more of RB thing in general....you are constantly running and cutting. Your knees are going to get worn.

Curtis “My Favorite” Martin. One of the shiftiest backs ever, man did he make tacklers miss, AND he ran hard for a guy who was 5’11” 205. Loved him as a Patriot and am still angry about losing him. When he retired he was the 4th alltime leading rusher.

Also one of the classiest players ever too. I remember the story of when he was a rookie, a kid wrote to him asking if he’d come to his Bar Mitzvah. Curtis went. If Michel could bring some of that Martin type greatness to the backfield, we’d be extremely lucky.

Watch the elusiveness in this video, especially around the 2:25 mark, wow !

Love the music in this video (up until about the 2 minute mark), love NFL Films music from the 1970s.

If not the best pass pro in the class, hes top 2-3 at very worst. I think hes as good as any in the class in that area. If healthy he'll be our feature. Fumbles was the literally the only thing that can some pause but he's a great prospect. If he gets going its going to be tough to take him out.

He’s literally the perfect Lewis replacement. I’ve felt that the whole offseason, even before we lost Lewis. That’s why he was my favorite player in the draft.

I’ve been watching him and scouting him for a couple years. Every time I watched Georgia to scout Nick Chubb, Michel always impressed me more. More explosive, more shifty, great pass blocker, even has a return for a TD. Don’t get me wrong, Chubb is gonna be a helluva back, I just think Michel is better.

Do yourself a favor, if you have any reservations about the Michel pick, watch the 2018 Rose Bowl vs Oklahoma. Michel was incredible. It’s a showcase of what he can bring to the Pats.

Just watched some of his highlites and noticed even at 214 lbs he looked skiny like he could add 5-10 lbs, especially to his lower body.

Great runner and pass blocker but the ball security issues reminds a bit of Stevan Ridley. Hopefully he can fix that and crack the rotation.

Jesus bite your tongue

I heard that was one of His "minor" miracles..

Consider how few running backs, even great ones, are great into their second contract. Jamaal Charles, for example, was great for a few years and by the time his rookie deal was over he was basically done. The guys who last a long time are the Faulks and Whites. If we get three great years out of him, it's a win.

Flat-out love this pick. Really, each of the top 3 picks.
With what they've also done with trades and free agency, not to mention the return of JE11 and High, this team is markedly better than the one in the SB.
I'm not even factoring in possible big contributions from Rivers and Mitchell.
There's a reason Vegas has the Pats as the NFL favorites to win the most games.
Never know about injuries, but I don't understand how anyone can't be confident about this team.
On second thought, yes I do- some posters here just lack confidence- period.

Lol. Probably had to have years of Catholic school(like me) to appreciate that.
I STILL haven't figured out the Immaculate Conception.

Only fumbled 2 times as a senior, read that somewhere.

IF they stay relatively healthy, and have all their key guys come playoff time, they will be dangerous. The offense is extremely explosive, and the return of Hightower is very important. Would like to see what Langi can bring to the team. The run defense should be improved big time. Need a pass rush, QBs eat us apart when we don’t get pressure. Would love to see a more aggressive defense this year.

Michel should fit this offense like a glove. Make it even more dangerous. RB and WR should be good, worried about TE, nobody can catch a pass, and we are screwed if Gronk goes down. That’s why I wanted Goedert or Gesicki in round 2.

He’s already cracked the rotation. Bill didn’t draft him in the first round to keep him on the bench.
