Brady to hold out of OTAs? - (Bogus Borges Report)

I really really wonder why the Boston media(not all) always want to drag TB12 and BB to the mud with ridiculous takes
And now PFT reports the Herald as saying: "Borges’ column has been suspended pending further review."...

Here's their statement:

Ref: Boston Herald suspends Ron Borges’ column, apologizes for “erroneous report”

PFT couldn't help but say: "It won’t be surprising if today’s suspension is the end of Borges’ newspaper career."
Just saw this on Jerry Thornton's feed. He refers to Borges to the Patriots as Gargamel to the Smurfs. Too funny.

they can't say Borges is suspended...just his column? weak....

In real terms at the paper, Borges is his column. This really just means that they've now got time to go over his work looking for other problems, and time to decide whether or not he's going to get fired. At the least, he's probably written his last item on the Patriots.

This whole fiasco actually provides an interesting insight into the journalism industry and how some members thereof practice their trade.

Just imagine how many other stories have come about from the same type of “sources” - in either the sports world or the real world.

For the Herald, mayhaps.

After all, Tom-ass-e is posting crap about the Pats for WEEI.

I know it was proven to be totally false, but when there’s smoke there’s fire, right?
With what?

Brady wanting more cash? Maybe, but not $75m.

Skipping OTAs? Ridiculous. Even during the tough negotiations there has never been a wisper of Tom holding out

Even if Borges keeps his job, I smile at the thought of him submitting an article, telling his editor he can't reveal his source, only to hear the editor quip, "It isn't Nick from Boston, right?" Every single time.

Regards,
Chris

Literally almost every negative story pumped about the pats in the last 10 years has been a lie. Save for hernandez morphing into tony montana. That was true.

If it's totally false, how can there be any smoke?

Punchy will be out at some well known watering hole in Boston drowning his sorrows. He'll get nasty drunk and pick a fight with some gorilla who proceeds to smash his skull in like a rotten cantaloupe. Lord Hear Our Prayer.

The second I first saw this I knew it was complete ********. It made absolutely NO sense considering Brady's entire career and trading Jimmy G.

I hope Borges is fired but what Tomase did is even worse and the fact that us Boston sports fans haven't gotten him fired is very disappointing.

We should use this as an opportunity to get Tomase's name back in the news, someone should write Barstool and remind them to make an article to the tune of "Hey, why does John Tomase still work in Boston?"
I Agree. I’ve only called in to WEEI twice and both times it was to ask Tomase to explain his story about Matt Walsh. This past Saturday I asked him if he was going to make up another lie Super Bowl morning. I think too many people forget what Tomase did in 2007.

Yep. And Tomase can be heard complaining about how STUPID PATRIOTS FANS INSULT HIM AND WONT LET GO.

Got to say, Borges used to write fascinating boxing columns back in the day. He was both connected and passionate, and he always stood up for the athletes vs. the promoters in an absolute meat grinder of a sport. Now he’s just a bloated caricature, but it would be wrong to omit that he used to bring the goods.

Tomase should be better than he is too, he has talent and intelligence, but that stench of poor ethics and weak character permeate all his contributions.

Actually, if you're looking for him, he lives in Littleton. He was pumping gas at a station I pulled into a year or two ago.

Well, sure. The Herald can't control what another employer does, so the Herald could only fall back on an "us or them" demand.

Perhaps you're right, but I've neither seen nor heard any evidence that such is the case. He's shown himself to be a fool on every subject I've had the displeasure of seeing, or hearing, him address.
