It doesn't seem so, but Minihane certainly engaged in no shortage of gloating over the whole thing, laughing at how Borges has pretty much just completely ruined his career and will never work again.

(I am not sold on the idea Borges will never work again, but that is what Minihane was doing)

Minihane had better be perfect, because Borges will have friends who will want payback. Not that I am siding with Borges either, as he's part of the old, negative guard that thrive on the big four sports in town sucking. I think it's big DB move on Minihane's part. Rise above it. Be better. Nope, he stooped to Borges' level.

They kind of deserve each other. I'll go back to not listening to K&C.

Minihane will always be safe as long as his ratings are good. That’s the only thing they care about. I don’t listen very often but I think that eventually people will tire of his drama queen act and all of the inside the station talk will get old and he will have to find a new act.

Just read the whole thread ( yup too much time on my hands) and was proud, and not surprised, that Every Single Poster called it out as fake, BEFORE WEEI broadcast same.

Borges to me is like CHB, Tomase, Volin, and Im probably forgetting many others, in that I BEVER read them anymore. Reiss,Curran,and a handful more Ill read.

Curious to me, that as a professional writer, you would not move heaven and earth to always kill yourself to get a story right. As a professional writer, would not you want your writing to be considered impeccable? Opinions sure can be argued, but facts in your written word is who you are and what you do.

Here's their statement:

“A column by Ron Borges in today’s Herald regarding Patriot Tom Brady’s salary discussions was based on information which proved to be false,” the paper said in a statement. “The Heraldapologizes to Brady, his agent Don Yee and the Patriots, and to our readers for this erroneous report. Borges’ column has been suspended pending further review.”

All Minihane cares about is ratings to a point he'll do anything for a listener. He has new bosses and is trying to impress. He threatened to quit a few weeks ago because they were influencing his format.

WEEI itself is not claiming that, they are just saying:

Kirk Minihane, Gerry Callahan and Mike Mutnansky revealed Friday morning that a texter "Nick in Boston" was pretending to be Tom Brady's agent Don Yee when texting Boston Herald columnist Ron Borges.

Well, where is the announcement? So far, the Herald has only done one of their fantastic "apologies" as if it means something.

Where is Wickersham's apology? Where is Rolling Stone's apology for all of their lies or what Felger and Mazz are probably still doing all day long, lying over and over and over again, while profiting off the lies?

We know Goodell won't apologize for cheating, as Kraft bent over again, but at the very least Kraft can demand both Borges and Tomase are sent packing for their damaging lies.

Howe is probably the only guy left at the Herald who I trust for real info, at least covering the Pats.

Straight shooter, honest and no fake drama crap. He also has real info.
