Borges has witnessed Brady up close for 17 years. He didn't think it was fishy that all of a sudden, Brady's agent would intentionally leak a story to the media that would make his superstar, always-team-first client look like a selfish jerk?

He was so excited to have the chance to make the Patriots and Brady look bad that he wasn’t going to bother actually fact checking it. Typical Borges, agenda first.

Yeah but Ron so wanted this story to be true that he pounced on it way too quickly.

Nah. It's personal with Borges. it has nothign to do with clicks or money. He hates Belichick with the burning heat of a thousand suns, always has, and he's always had the shiv out for him and he's been wrong so many times no one bothers to count anymore. Which just makes him even more furious.

"On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson or the second-best tackle in the draft in Kenyatta Walker, they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon." - Ron Borges, MSNBC after 2001 Draft.

"Belichick will not be so lucky. He doesn't have (Jimmy) Johnson's personality, which can be as jovial and charming as a snake oil salesman's. Worse, this Patriot team isn't going to win two Super Bowls any time soon..."
- Ron Borges, Boston Globe, 11/22/01

Quadruple LOL.

I remember the first one very well. The second one is new to me. Hilarious.

Very similar to Goodell's court filings with Deflategate. They actually forgot to sign the paperwork, as they tried to control the case in a NY court as opposed to a MN one with Judge Doty.

Can't be made up. Can't.

The plagiarism and overt agenda against the Patriots and BB in particular did that long ago. I don't think many considered him credible in the last decade or two.

Which makes it fascinating he is still employable. Isn't credibitlity important for a journalist so we can trust the inevitable "sources close to" line?

sad that this can happen...

I mean, I saw the Borges story last night and I knew I wouldn’t post it here because it seemed so unbelievably full of **** just from the headline. And I’m just a fan who has been following Brady for his whole career. Nothing about the story makes any sense at all. What an embarrassment.

Yea and Minihane claims his motivation was Borges insulted his show and implied he didn't know how to get to Gillette Stadium.

Bad reporting by Borges and if I didn't think he was so destructive, bitter, terrible and spiteful I'd say that he didn't kind of deserve it.

But yea, Minihane basically ruined Borges's career over something petty.

Minihane had better be perfect, because Borges will have friends who will want payback. Not that I am siding with Borges either, as he's part of the old, negative guard that thrive on the big four sports in town sucking. I think it's big DB move on Minihane's part. Rise above it. Be better. Nope, he stooped to Borges' level.

They kind of deserve each other. I'll go back to not listening to K&C.

Yeah, Minihane is going to have a fall of his own eventually, and an awful lot of people are going to enjoy it.

The second I first saw this I knew it was complete ********. It made absolutely NO sense considering Brady's entire career and trading Jimmy G.

I hope Borges is fired but what Tomase did is even worse and the fact that us Boston sports fans haven't gotten him fired is very disappointing.

We should use this as an opportunity to get Tomase's name back in the news, someone should write Barstool and remind them to make an article to the tune of "Hey, why does John Tomase still work in Boston?"

Wait a second, what did Minihane do exactly? Did he put this Nick guy up to this?
