They'll just run the wildcat all game with Lewis (the cat), which may cause @SammyBlueCat to explode.
I know this is meant as a joke, but I think it's actually true. No matter what is happening with Brady, they are not bringing in a 3rd QB. They don't have time to bring someone else up to speed and what would be the point? If Brady and Hoyer both go down (gulp) we are losing anyway and the season is over. i think Brady is starting no matter what and if he can't handle the ball then Hoyer will come in and that will be it. Go Patriots.

Can you imagine the circus this would be if it was the week before the Super Bowl? Government shutdown - what government shutdown?

Apparently Brady was at the Dedham Hospital on Wednesday getting 12 stitches in his hand.

That combined with Chao's speculation of a non-fracture skin penetration sounds ugly. I'm imagining TB getting his thumb jammed so hard that a bone poked out through the skin. If you can do that without any ligament or cartilage damage affecting grip strength then I guess I'm ok. Otherwise ...:mad::(

Brady's toughness does not concern me, his lack of practice this week does.

Yep, we all know how tough Brady is, and unfortunately it'pretty much irrelevant when we're talking about (probably) the thumb of a QB's throwing hand. "Toughness" might let you play through pain, or keep your focus through illness. It doesn't keep a hand injury from affecting your grip/feel for the ball, and thus messing with your accuracy.

We don't know if this is that kind of injury, it's all speculation. But while we're speculating, here's something to ponder: how effective would a QB with Brady's brain and Bortles' accuracy be? He could still read the defenses, adjust formations, etc. but he'd have to be far, far more conservative about which throws he attempted.

Whoever ran into brady should be publicly flogged.

I have a hard time disagreeing with this. I do think they probably have an emergency QB, someone who played once or twice in High School or something that they can throw in for a handful of looks. Unlikely that offense does anything, but I could see it being a "We've got a one TD lead, just hand the ball off three times, punt, and trust the defense" kind of situation.

My gut says we're going to see Brady though, and while not 100%, he'll be good enough to win if our defense plays like they should.

we have learned he did not practice yesterday too. (He just showed up with the glove)
Yep and has nothing to do with Sunday

Can we please pump the brakes on this Chao quack diagnosing an injury from Twitter rumors. ONE person out of everyone covering the patriots mentioned bleeding and said it was a little blood. Suddenly we have bones poking through skin and brady sneaking off to a veterinary hospital for stitches.

It’s becoming clear that Brady will not play like his usual self on Sunday. However, I am confident that Bill and Josh will come up with a proper game plan. This is the same head coach who won the 2001 AFCCG despite brady going out at the end of the 2nd quarter. He has won games before both without TB12 and with a limited TB12. The rest of the offense and defense will need to step up. Thankfully we are not playing a top team.

Chao has now obtained footage of the injury...

One problem with an injured hand in addition to throwing the ball is receiving the snap from center. I'm wondering if the delivery changes or if he can reverse things so his left hand is on top taking the brunt of the snap.

There's no hospital in Dedham. There are several Urgent Care type facilities, but no "hospital". The closest hospital to Gillette is Norwood Hospital, and frequently players suffering severe injuries during games are transported to Norwood Hospital. I don't think Brady would leave the campus for stitches - I'm sure Patriots medical staff or a Dr at the B&W facility at Patriot Place could stitch a cut. This story is complete bullschitt on multiple levels...

You mock, but I hear that Brady actually ordered one of those dog masks. What more proof do we need?
