It's mind boggling that they haven't gotten him more involved in bubble screens outside of the red zone. He's a weapon with the ball in his hands but they only seem to want him to run the 7, 8, and 9 routes.

I totally agree. I think I have been saying this before the season and heard Chatham talk about this early in the season for many of his podcasts in a row. Despite all the issues at the start of the season he was noticeably giddy about how Josh will be able to put Cooks to use in space similar to how AB is used by the Steelers. We tried for some time but somehow it just never seemed to work out.

At this point I wonder if our absolute awful screen game this year is just coincidental or maybe somehow connected to McD trying to give Cooks the main role in it.

They tried the Slant a few times unsuccessfully.

cooks was being held and hugged on EVERY single play...

the reason he was blanketed was b/c that CB played tight, and wasn't called for it, so kept playing tight

tough to get separation if the other guy has two arms around your waist...

Every Good or Great CB's do that Gilmore and Butler do it all the time can't call everything especially playing the most difficult position on the Field.

Half the defensive squad Cutler put 27 points on, is comprised of a bunch of JAGs, rookies, and practice squaders.... woohoo.... Jay Cutler...

And 10 of those 27 points came on them having short fields because of the turnovers and there should have had another 4 off the board if Richards tackled Cutler lower.

Also that dolphins offense did absolutely jack **** in the last 20 minutes of the game. Here were their drives

4 plays- 5 yards- Punt (Started at MIA 15)
3 plays- 4 yards- Punt (Started at MIA 18)
5 plays- 17 yards- Punt (Started at MIA 28)
3 plays- 2 yards- Punt (Started at MIA 38)
5 plays- 16 yards- Punt (Started at MIA 29)

That defense could have mailed in the rest of the game after miami went up 27-10 but they didn't allow **** and kept given the offense the ball back to do something

Now here are their other drives (minus the short drives after turnovers)

13 plays- 69 yards- FG (Needed to convert a 4th down or it would have been 9 plays 44 yards)
5 plays- 23 yards- Punt (Started at MIA 29)
7 plays- 80 yards- TD (Started at MIA 20
8 plays- 82 yards- TD (Started at MIA 18)

Had 3 good drives the whole game. And before any chicken littles or contrarians chime in I didn't include the drives after TOs because those 2 drives were the 2 best starting positions miami had all night 1 drive started at the MIA 40, which Pats held to a FG and the other started at the NE 46 which was a TD. I hate putting a drive that starts in NE territory because the offense coughed the ball up and put them in a short field spot solely on the defense

Penalties aided the Patriots Offense almost a miracle we put points on the Board 0-11 on 3rd downs. Miami had more penalties than us 8-102.

Any idea yet who will be the ref crew in this game?

........WE WILL WIN IN PITTSBURGH NEXT SUNDAY!!!!!

True dat. Offense played liek crap. Put the D in a tough spot several times. Gonna have to score in the 30's this Sunday to beat the Steelers.

I disagree. Other than the double move by Cooks that Howard may have held on briefly, I thought Cooks was very well defended.

What game did you watch? I count 1 penalty on the drives Pats scored that aided the Pats, which was Cooks being interfered on 3rd and 5 in the end zone which they were in FG range when it happened.

Bad D, Bad 40 year old QB, Horrible O line. What could possibly go wrong against an MVP calibre WR, elite RB, and dam good QB?

Ya, that's an E-leet LB crew there.

Nah. If J.Jones is getting called for what he did on that Landry PI, Howard should have had at least 3-4 more PIs called on him last night.

Well if it makes you feel better, a lot of this board also thinks Pittsburgh "sucks" as close margins of victory negate wins, apparently.

I've watched at least part of all their games. They were horrible against the Jags, worse than the Pats last night. They received a gift from the officials in the Lions game. Obviously, they don't suck but they aren't as awesome as some commentators think.

When your QB skips balls and overthrows receivers, it doesn't matter how good the other team's D is or isn't. Just because Brady has won five SB's doesn't mean he should be given excuses. Belichick preaches every season is it's own identity
( something like that).

He needs to be alot better or you can say hello to the Chargers or Baltimore in the WC round. The Jags aren't losing another game. ( Titans, Hou, SF), and neither is pittsburgh. ( Houston, Browns).

Week 9 & 10 2010

I'll just leave it at that......

We're doomed!
Pittsburgh is too good.
Rothlisberger might retire so the refs/league are going to bend over backwards to give them this game.
Pittsburgh wants revenge for the years of humiliation they've suffered at our hands.
They are playing for their fallen teammate Ryan Schizer.
Mike Tomlin might be getting smarter.
They are a team of destiny.

I have no idea why we are even bothering to show up.

No Patriot played well last night. No Patriot coach coached well last night. No one is making excuses. It's one game, not an entire season.

Odds are you are going to see a very different Pats team on the field next Sunday.

11/26/17 - Cardinals 27 Jags 24.

I agree. I vote to forfeit the Steelers game
