FWIW, there are two members on PatriotsPlanet with verified inside sources and both have indicated that Gilmore's absence is for more than just health reasons.

The tea leaves would point in that direction anyway, but their posts solidify it for me. Hopefully he can figure it out because he's got loads of physical ability.
Can you link this “inside info”?

So on the 98.5 post-game they mentioned that the team would be staying out in Denver after the game. A few people on the board had been speculating that they would do that. Hadn’t seen or heard anything official on that front....
IMHO it is a no-brainer. The difference in travel is something like almost 3,000 fewer miles in the air compared to going all the way back to Boston. Not to mention the climate acclimation.

Man, how did you find this? That guy has 20 followers and joined twitter today.
I sure am glad he has the disclaimer that athletes should see a doctor in person and not rely on him. Otherwise, Hogan and the Patriots would probably just go by what some complete rando on twitter says.

ha ha... Patriots Planet.... the Ocean State Job Lot of forums....

And only got 21 points out of it.

That was good enough for today, but it won't be when playing the iron. So they need to work the kinks out before then.

Agree QM. I get why people would see repeatedly moving the ball to the 35 as a positive sign, however, they're overlooking that some teams will purposefully play softer in that area to avoid the big play. Past Patriot teams lived off of soft D outside the redzone. Postgame pressers would see the opposition "we moved the ball just fine, we just didn't take advantage of our opportunities" (no! you moved the ball where it doesn't equal points, and you didn't move the ball when it would have equaled points).

Unless you have a dominating D or get a whole lotta bounces, you have to convert TDs at a good clip in order to grind out your path to the SB. Hey, I'm ok with the Patriots grinding out these midseason wins. A win is a win! But as the season goes on we need to find what ails us in and around the RZ. We'll play a minimum of 3 playoff caliber teams to win the SB. Who thinks we can go 3-0 against Pittsburgh, KC, Philly (or whoever) kicking FGs more often than converting TDs in the handful of RZ/near RZ trips we are likely to get??

A link would be nice.

The communication issues may have been largely centered on Gilmore but the defensive issues were largely centered on the front seven imo.

Far too many blown coverages for me to agree with that, which is not to imply, by any means, that I think the front 7 was getting it done early on, because it wasn't. Remember what Gilmore has been, though, which is a man cover guy who lines up on one player and is supposed to just stick with him. He's had to try converting from that since coming to N.E., and it seems pretty obvious that there's been some struggling with that.

Now I'm reading that Gilmore should ride the bench when he gets back. He's , imo, our best man coverage CB who had a decent game vs TB playing both zone and man. So I definitely don't get that. (Not implying that you said that)

Having Gilmore and Rowe back will be a nice boost for the secondary. Or at least that's what I think.

I think the bye will help with the transition, but I don't see why there should be any problem with the idea of bringing Gilmore back slowly, rather than just giving him his spot right away. Bademosi and Butler have been doing a capable job. Giving Gilmore a little bit at a time to ease him back seems like a pretty sound approach to me. I'm more concerned about long-term than I am about weeks 9-13, if you get my meaning.

No link is needed. Two people from PatriotsUniverse stated the two people from PatriotsPlanet got their information directly from two people at PatriotsGalaxy. And two people at PatriotsOuterSpace confirmed PatriotsPlanet was PatriotsGalaxy's source.

In all seriousness, the longer Gilmore remains out the more the sad case of Mike Wright comes to mind. For Gilmore's sake I hope that isn't the case(I'm sure it isn't). But anyone saying Gilmore is out because he hasn't been playing well, that is just lame. It's not lame to think he isn't playing well -- that's a judgment call -- it's lame to think BB/MP would give up on a guy with an established 4+ years of starting at CB (a decent 4+ year record too) because he hasn't played well for 4 games.

If it isn't concussion related and it is not play quality related? Then what is behind PatriotsPlanet's door #3?

This was a solid win for the Pats, I thought. Chargers are one of the better teams we've played thus far (despite their record). The main concern I came away with is that the offense needs to do better in the red zone. The game would have looked a lot more convincing if they had turned two of those FGs into TDs. I'm not too concerned though because I'm confident the Pats will get better moving forward.

Defense was encouraging today. Fingers crossed for Hogan and Cannon. We're gonna need those guys.

I think Gilmore just wants to take the money and run. Dare them to cut him, what does he care, he has the loot already.

Belichick is usually so careful about big dollar signings. He rushed this one and it's a disaster. What happened? Needs to be an invetigation.

lol I knew it here comes the flags always

These breakdowns happened with Rowe, McCourty butler Harmon etc in the dirks as well in many cases more likely to be the culprit on the particular plays. The breakdowns stopped while Gilmore was healthy in the Tampa game when they play 50/50 man and zone.
To blame Gilmore without citing specific plays that were his fault is lazy analysis.

This is just not true by any means.

It’s always a consideration of how you will bring back a player who missed time but the last time we saw Gilmore he had an excellent game in Tampa so unless it’s a rust issue he should be out there full time.

Well I hope so, would feel better about that call not that I really care that much but better about the defense at least.

He trucked Chung. It was as clear cut and Brandon LaFellian of an OPI that you'll ever see.
