I thought it would be good to have a single thread to keep track of injuries affecting Patriots opponents and potential opponents during the playoffs. Focusing on the AFC teams for now makes sense because there will be plenty of time to talk about the NFC team we will face in the Super Bowl when we get there.

This was motivated by these two injury reports I heard yesterday, but I’m sure there are more specific injuries to track.

Chargers CB Donte Jackson was injured against the Broncos. Have not seen updates but sounds like it will be a problem for him at least this week. Hopefully he will have many weeks to recover after this next game. Chargers suffer a brutally unlucky injury in pointless Week 18 game

Bills kicker Matt Prater reinjured his right quad on Sunday, after missing the last two games with it. Bills coach was noncommittal about his availability for this next game, and said they would be working out free agent kickers this week. Sean McDermott has surprising update on Buffalo Bills kicker who couldn’t finish the Jets game

These both seem pretty significant in terms of potential impact to upcoming playoff games. Any thoughts on them? Any others to discuss as well?

Buffalo signed kicker Matthew Wright to their PS today.
