Very interesting thanks for posting.
in case anyone was losing sleep over this..
I don't think Garcia was ever a factor for this season, though I wouldn't have minded him getting technique work this year. But the bottom line is Garcia was ALWAYS a 2-3 year project when he was drafted. We won't see him this year.OT - some “info“ on two top 2017 draft picks lost for the season..
Yes, but missing a season of practice is not helping him.I don't think Garcia was ever a factor for this season, though I wouldn't have minded him getting technique work this year. But the bottom line is Garcia was ALWAYS a 2-3 year project when he was drafted. We won't see him this year.
There are no 2-3 year projects except for for maybe position changers like Edelman.I don't think Garcia was ever a factor for this season, though I wouldn't have minded him getting technique work this year. Your post could be the most important in this thread. For over a week now the "Brady is getting killed out there" diatribe has been persistent not only locally, but nationally as well.Nope, they actually aren't.
Brady through 5 games last season was hit 28 times on 166 attempts and sacked 10 times
Brady through 5 games this season has been hit 32 times on 195 attempts and sacked 16 times
Brady through 5 games has thrown it 17% more than he did last year. Which correlates with the number of hits 28 to 32 is a 14% increase. So really he is getting hit the same amount he was last year through 5 games. Now the sacks there is a 60% increase but that likely correlates with Brady holding the ball longer because the passing game has been much more vertical this year compared to last year.
If they can't beat the jets, then all hell will break loose. I think it'll be close!
Ha. Tell that to Brady's injured shoulder which needed an MRI on Tuesday, 5 days after the game had occurred and could potentially bother him for the remainder of the season. But bottom line, it would appear that the entire "Brady is getting killed" meme is a much ado about nothing scenario that was a convenient narrative built to last a week and pull out again whenever they have nothing else to talk about.
He basically played with the same injury to his throwing shoulder in Dec. 2002 and finished out the year. It happened in week 15 @Tennessee, and the offense lost 2/3 to end the year, only scoring 7 and 17 in the losses.Brady is done if he lands on that shoulder. Not sure how it's even possible to play with an AC joint sprain.

Whether it's "only" due to the fact that he's being forced to hold the ball too long because of the injury to Edelman, the fact that the OL isn't playing quite as well as last year, or a combination of both, our team's number one priority lies in keeping its most important player upright and unharmed. It's really as simple as that.
It's great to see the informative post by JMC00 which points out the percentages of drop backs and hits compared to last year, because it shows us that it's not ALL on the offensive line, but the fact remains that Brady is on pace for 51 sacks, has taken way too many hits/sacks, and is on the wrong side of time for this to be occurring. It needs to change immediately. Hopefully, we see a combo of quicker release and improved play on the OL. The lack of running game isn't helping things.
I think the attention is going to be on Brady and the OL due to the following reasons:I just watched the Eagles and Panthers defenses pummel their respective QB's all night long. It was worse than anything Brady's seen so far, yet except for a casual mention about the good pressure both teams got, it wasn't a focal point of post game discussion, and I doubt very much any talk about the OL deficiencies of either team will be a national topic of discussion.
As for Brady's injury, he's an NFL QB, and he's going to get hit. That's a fact of life even with the best OL's. And if you get hit, there is a possibility of injury. That's a fact of life too. So blaming Brady's injury on the OL is a bit unfair.
