He is getting some bad optics. Brady's throws to him has been atrocious but at the end of the day, he does not have a catch. I mean he has zero, big O, that is 0 catches.

I went back and looked at the tape. It was in week three on the screen pass to Dion Lewis. Allen either disengaged the blocker too early or became lazy on the block. Either way he allowed his man to blow up the play

Oh shoot, don't bring me into the Allen debate.

I will admit that after sticking up for him all summer and through the first 1/4 of the season, I am getting more skeptical by the minute. We'll have to see how he looks moving forward, but I can certainly understand those who are getting restless.

The truth will lie within the game tape so that we can see how he really looks as a blocker.

Alge Crumpler was superior to Dwayne Allen and he cost far less.

Except for the easy TD pass he dropped against the Jets in the playoffs in 2011.

Allen is basically 2007 Kyle Brady, an extra offensive lineman at this point. Expect that at some point he will be left uncovered up the seam, make a 25 yard gain, and that the entire play I'll be hoping he does not fumble. He is not much of a receiving threat right now. Maybe he can rush the passer?

Why did you guys think the Colts wanted to get rid of him? He sucks. He's a decent blocker and he's shown flashes of being able to catch passes but he has way too many drops and is totally inconsistent. He was outplayed last year by Jack Doyle and Swope. Allen really regressed the past few seasons. I never understood why the Colts let Fleener go and resigned Allen in the first place.

He had to come back for the ball but he still had two hands on it. Even average receivers would have caught that. Sometimes when your qb is getting lit up the passes won't be perfect but if it still eventually hits you between the numbers you have to catch it.
