The 12 words that make fans cringe.

Well, worth a shot I guess. He isn't lacking for athleticism, seems like he might just be one of those guys who can't for the life of him go stride for stride with a receiver while maintaining any kind of awareness of the play around him. Sometimes those guys can convert to safety if they're better at attacking the play in front of them (which slot corners in general are more likely to be comfortable with). And after Jordan Richards' disgrace of a performance tonight, safety depth is definitely a need.

That's kinda the point, though: Hernandez himself was a bit undersized for a move TE, but he made up for it by being such a freak athlete that the he could line up literally anywhere on the field, up to and including at RB. Hollister is smaller than Hernandez and doesn't have that. To say his size is fine would be like saying a 5'9, 185 pound WR without any real burst or agility to speak of is fine because he's no smaller than Welker, ignoring that Welker's size was a huge liability but he overcame it by being extremely good at something else that this guy doesn't have. Hollister is basically a slightly smaller Hernandez minus Hernandez's standout athleticism, which reads like the profile of a fringe NFL player. Wouldn't be surprised if someone signs him to the back end of their roster, and if not I expect him to make our PS, but that size will always be a liability at TE.

He's an inch taller and only a couple pounds lighter. He also matched or exceeded all of Hernandez's workout numbers except for the 3-cone.

Here are some of the well-regarded move TEs in the league right now. These guys were all in the top 15 of TEs for either catches/yards/TDs last year, and none of them have more than an inch or 10 pounds on Hollister. Many of them are actually shorter and lighter:

None of them are heavier than Hernandez either. Which kind of proves that Hernandez wasn't "undersized"

Hmm...The more I see it the more I think Cyrus Jones may be better off at FS than at CB. Even though they are fine at FS and they need a SS. But like you said, always good to experiment, especially tonight instead of 4 weeks from now.

Josh Augusta looking solid tonight, no? Wouldn't mind seeing him on the PS. Good depth at DT.

I really do not understand what people see in Jacoby. Horrifically inaccurate.
These are things we sometimes think to ourselves, but aren't supposed to say out loud.

Hopefully, he makes a big leap next year.

Get it in play. 2nd time he did that on a critical down.

God damn you Brissett! You robbed us of our dream of 23-0

Aw man. Just a few feet too far. Lucien always seems to catch those out of bounds.

This is awesome ... truly.

It drives home the Forget Last Year mantra, gives BB & Company a ton of material they can use to remind this team that they haven't done anything yet. The vets on the team will teach the new guys how to feed off of the embarrassment of giving up 3 touchdowns on 3 plays totaling what - 218 yards (97, 79, 42?).

Points left on the field. JG has a killer night on the stat sheet - what did it get you, man? It's not just the plays you make - it's the plays you don't make.

Was it 2004 when they were owned by Cincy (Preseason Week 2) and Jacksonville (PS Week 4) - those losses lit the fire (or re-lit). The same should happen this year.
