Do Patriot fans have less loyalty to Tom Brady than Browns fans did to Bernie Kosar

Brady is going to be 40 soon 41 next year, if Jimmys it then Brady has to go for the long term success of this team, if he can keep this train rolling then you know what move has to be made, franchise qbs don't grow on trees
So why throw one away when playing at his peak?

There will come a time when Brady's skills will erode, to the point he will need to be replaced.

Nobody knows when that day will come; right now it is pure speculation.

If Brady does not recognize it when that day arrives, Belichick will pull him aside and let him know. The end of Tedy Brushi's career would be a good comparable.

In the meantime, based on Brady's performance in the most reason, he is still the better choice for the 2017 season. One can debate on what the best long term plan may be, but I do not see how there is even a question on what is best for this upcoming season.
Through 3 Quarters of the SuperBowl, Brady looked like he was in heavy decline, including a Pick Six. 'He reached back and performed well as the Defense constantly kept giving him the ball in the late 3rd and 4th Quarter of SB LI.

That is typical of how a QB declines. Good and Bad play until the bad vastly outnumbers the good intervals.

That is extremely unlikely. The only way is if Brady suddenly loses it.
Without injury it's almost impossible.

Much less than the difference in talent.

Why then would you mortgage your present for an unproven player?

He did not SHRED Arizona. He shredded miami for a quarter.
They were not good defenses in fact Miami set a franchise record for worst yardage allowed.

That 1 1/2 games in the hour glass of Tom Brady's GOAT career is a single grain of sand.

As I have said the team is more likely to win more SBs with 2 years of Brady and whoever follows than in garoppolos career.
You argue as if we will have to play without a QB if JAG is traded. BB will find another, and he may be better than JAG.

I know what Brady is.
I do not know what JAG is.
There is a chasm 100 miles wide between Brady and the chance JAG could be anywhere close.

I go with Brady until Brady can no longer go.

Brady without a second thought.

Thanks for eliminating yourself from the list of people I take seriously.

I'll chalk you up as one who respects Brady less than browns fans respected Kosar.

There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

In this thread: absolutely no room for nuanced opinions.

I've watched this week as many posters on this board have essentially said they would be fine with getting rid of Brady to keep Garoppolo while others are basically requesting him to retire and get out of JAGs way.

When belichick benched and cut Kosar, who had nothing left, Browns fans wanted to lynch him.

How can it be that less than 4 months after Brady played the greatest SB ever by a QB (after being the best QB in the NFL all season) to win his record 5th SB fans are almost asking Belichick to dump him?
I think a lot of people on this board are trying to have it both ways. They claim Brady is the greatest of all time (which he is) but they also seem to think he will be easily replaced. Plug in Garoppolo and we won't miss a beat.

IMHO, that line of thinking is absurd.

Also watching this draft I saw desperate teams mortgage the future to reach for QBs that weeks prior we're said to be third round fliers, late second at best.
Teams without quarterbacks made those moves. You didn't see GB, Oakland, Atlanta doing it.

Tom is the greatest of all time no question a warrior and in increidble shape but he's also whipped
Whuh whuh huh whuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh???!?!??!?

If you remember his diatribe during the deflategate saga, you'd know his mentality toward Brady. It's probably why he name changed. Pretty disgraceful.

If you're referring to Quantum his deflategate "diatribe" was in support of science and law which happened to be both in Brady's favor. Quantum was clearly in Brady's court.

I am a realist and I say hold on to Brady if he shows no signs of slowing down.

Unless JG is a HOF type QB you are better off keeping Brady. HOF level QBs win championships reliably and nothing else really does. Besides that you are gambling on your guy getting hot and everything going right to win.

If you want to win more championships 2-5 more years is Brady is a safer bet than JG,

For me its not loyalty. Its common sense. Unless there is a obvious decline, the patriots owe it to the fans and tom brady to see how far he can take this. If he wins next year thats 6 total. If he can play 3-4 more years and win two championships, he could have 7. History and lore is more important than a future qb. If tom brady wins 6-7 superbowls that more than any fan base could ask for in a lifetime. Hell 5 is more. Everytime tom steps on the field he is making history, you owe it to him to let him do it til he is not good anymore. Hell the packers ran brett farve out of town for aaron rodgers. That has been worth exactly one superbowl. Even if jimmy g is the next peyton manning he is probably worth two career superbowls. No qb or fanbase can expect anymore. Letting tom make history and see what he can do is worth more than two superbowls without him. Heck he might win us two more himself.

Exactly.
The difference between Brady and any other QB may be greater than the difference between JAG and whoever else replaces him. "Other guy" could be better.

He played the greatest SB game ever by a QB.

No love for Brady. It's ridiculous. He has shown no proof of a decline. If anything coming back and winning the Super Bowl proved otherwise. JG couldn't even get through a quarter of the season so it's a genius move to the guy that would bet his house on him.

When I first became a fan, they were the Boston Patriots. I stayed a fan through any number of lean years and, of course, through the present unbelievably good era. Things will get tough again, I imagine, and I'll go back to hoping for a little improvement here, a little light at the end of the tunnel there. If you feel a need to be on top all the time, I don't really think you have what it takes to be a fan, as I understand the term.

While I agree with your over all statement about QB's start to grow inconsistent as they decline.. Brady in no way was inconsistent in 2016/17, and that Falcons team was very good.. they played very good man vs man defense and put alot of pressure Brady. There were some missed throws.. some dropped passes and a huge fumble that got the Falcons going. The Falcons eventually tired a bit and the Pats and Brady kept the pedal to the floor and won the game. That game doesn't signify a decline in TB. 1 game can't do that, even if its the Super Bowl. Oh and the Patriots still won the game without there hall of fame Tight End!

I think Brady has 2 or 3 years left. But after next season he will have most likely 1 or 2 years left.. and you think you might have a possible future QB on the roster.

The Patriots clearly think highly of JG.

I think people are just being realistic.

So fans who want their team to win the superbowl every year, dont really have what it takes to be fans.

Got it
