Well, WTF! That's you, Joe! Freakin' Rob Gronkowski ain't you! Illogical comparison...I flew 6 and 1/2 hours to Ireland last fall with a half COLLAPSED right lung. The friggin' hysterics on this board are the ones that shouldn't fly....their fear would suck the oxygen out the cabin.
Well, bless your cotton-pickin' heart, Supe, just bless your heart...You matter to me, bud. You matter to me.
Looks like he's out.
More than that, it can potentially be dangerous. The air between the lung and inner chest wall reduces available lung capacity. As pressure drops the air pocket increases in volume, further reducing lung capacity. Depending on the initial size of the air pocket that further reduction can cause problems. No need. Especially if his lung is a little dinged up. Getting on a plan and dealing with pressurized/depressurized air cabins can't help the situation.
What if the plane flies really really low to San Francisco?
Ummmmm, a really big impact at 10,000 feet on a 15,000 foot Rocky Mnt?
Gronk and Hogan both being out sucks a bit but Bennett and Edelman can carry the day okay. Add in some White/Lewis and give Amendola/Mitchell some looks and we should be fine.
This is actually a good chance to give Mitchell an extended look.
Yea I figured something like that was happening but since I'm not a doctor I didn't want to talk our of school.More than that, it can potentially be dangerous. Tony Gonzalez from 1997 to 2013 only missed 1 NFL game. No wonder why NFL network had him as the best tight end ever.

Hogan is out too.
