Rob Gronkowski Injury Update

They were trying to injure people last night. They succeeded. THat is how I saw it and how everyone that I watched the game with saw it.

It was a clean hit. As I see it, they were trying to hurt our guys but not injure them, and there's a big difference. Rodney Harrison has spoken at length about that difference: he was always out there trying to hurt guys, but not trying to injure them. I see Chancellor's style of play pretty much the same way. He wants to **** up your day and make you regret stepping foot on the field, but he's not out there playing dirty trying to mess with your career. He's not Vontaze Burfict, or even TJ Ward.

Mike Garafalo standing by Rap's "lung issue" report but saying Pats will "take it slow and cautious" in regards to availability this week.

so in other words no one outside the Pats organization knows sht...wow big surprise, Ill wait for an official announcement form now on....should've known better.

I know the Patriots always keep the media out but is anyone getting nervous about the Patriots being a lil quiet about it?

Hopefully nothing serious, internal bleeding would be really bad. Gronk is a certified animal that needs to be out there on the field, making the league better.

Likely we will never know. My guess: his inability to fly suggests a pneumothorax which is often described in lay terms as a "punctured lung." Rapaport may well have heard and reported this term from a reliable source. Technically, however, his lung was not actually punctured, so the team could truthfully deny this diagnosis to Shefter who reported no punctured lung. A more accurate term would be "collapsed" lung (caused by trauma, not puncture). This is mere speculation that could explain the conflicting reports from honest, reliable people. He could miss a week or two, but "not serious" would also be accurate. Reiss may weigh in with a fuller explanation.

they can get bye without him for a couple games. As long we keep winning the games I would let him rest and heal as long as he needs.

If it was TJ Ward rather than Earl Thomas, Gronk would be going on IR with a torn ACL.

Great he's prob out for 4-6 weeks... Just going on Gords history calling the shots on Gronkowski injuries

Idk if I'm more surprised that he played through it or that it takes only a couple of weeks for a punctured lung to heal.
If he did puncture a lung he probably won't get medical clearance to fly to the west coast. Got to be very careful of atmospheric pressure changes with lung issues like that. Docs don't like you flying after a lung trauma like that.

What a hit by Thomas. All 5'10 202lb of him

They are mean vicious intimidating and full of swagger.

Get well soon Gronk!
Wish we had a defense like that. The hit was clean and legit.

It likely isn't punctured.
