All aboard the Elandon Roberts train I guess

Yes you dink. I still worry about him staying healthy because of his small stature.
And how does height, which you alluded to earlier in this thread, make a linebacker more susceptible to injury exactly?

You embarrass yourself every time you post.

Every team has flaws, including NE, and people can make legitimate statements pointing out those flaws. You aren't one of those people, because you never have any clue about anything, and you're a one trick pony.

All you do, in literally every thread you post, is talk about pass rush, without any regard to context. It's one area, of many, that can be discussed about a defense.

Take a long break from the forum, regroup, learn more about the game, and then come back. Unless you want to continue to humiliate yourself.

It's especially embarrassing given the fact that they pressured Taylor on 45% of his drop-backs yesterday and actually were bringing extra guys. So out the window goes his lame "contain defense" argument. Secondly when they brought extra people is how Taylor ended up with 50 yards and 1 TD. Which on one of those Collins got moved out of the play. Granted he was grabbed by the face mask but after watching the play again Collins had no chance of making the play because he hit the wrong gap.

So then he was going on about the rush defense because they gave up 167 and 3 TD. Which again his knowledge is embarrassingly bad. Complains about contain defense and then when they do the opposite of that and the QB makes a play with his legs it's "run defense sucks" Uh actually run defense doesn't suck. A mobile QB scrambling out of pressure or a sack isn't on the run defense. Neither is a punter dropping the ball and ST not realizing it until he was 5 yards up field.

Take that out and also take out Collins deciding to free-lance on the 28 yard run and you are looking at a run defense that gave up 73 yards on 19 designed run calls. But ya run defense sucked yesterday

A movement skills
A+ football smarts
A+ leadership
D- size.

Elandon is going to be a very important player for us. If his body can hold up to the position, he will be a key part of a championship run.

Just hope his body is up for it.

that's what they said about zach thomas

It does I agree, hopefully it improves.

Already has, 35.1% over the last 4 weeks. Which for a comparison the #8 ranked 3rd down defense this year is 36%.

Damn, Brooks was only 6-0? He played so much more than that. Derrick Brooks was one heck of a player. Never was quite as highly regarded as Ray Lewis but to be honest, I would've liked Brooks on my team more than Lewis. Loved watching him play.

Brooks would have fit in here, no doubt. He left it all on the field, and (iirc) never a problem off-field .

You're clueless. Nm. Apparently the defense's top 5 or top 10 in your mind.

I hope Roberts breaks out and starts to play at an All-Pro level. High expectations but I believe it's possible.

Another thing about the Collins move is that the "PPG is all that matters" crowd has STFU. Bill wasn't happy with the defense despite what these idiots led you to believe.

Bill has criticized the offense in the past after scoring 30+ points. In fact, he did so today during a conference call. He said the team needs to pass and run better, after a 41 point performance. Perhaps you're a new Pats fan and aren't aware, but Bill tends to be harder on the team after a win or big accomplishment, in order to prevent complacency.

Also, I don't think you'll find many (or any) people who claim "PPG is all that matters." A lot of people correctly believe that it's the most important stat, but not the only thing that matters.

Let me get this straight: the PPG emphatic "idiots" are wrong aka the defense sucks because BB got rid of one of his best defensive players? Getting rid of talent while you're competing for a Super Bowl is supposedly a sign that your defense sucks?

There are people who are content with the defense and refuse to acknowledge that there are areas that need improvement. I'm already on record for saying the defense has played well but can still improve. Maybe next time you should learn not to put words in others mouths, Dink.

Oh, it's the most important but a few have behaved as if it's the only thing that matters. I'm on record for saying they've played well but can improve.

Well no-one was saying that PPG is all that matters what was being said is it's a big factor and Pats haven't given up more than 17 points since Week 2

"THEY GAVE UP 25 YESTERDAY"

You're gonna sit there and tell me Rowe's pass break up on Woods was PI? If you are, you're just calling yourself an idiot. Should have been 4th and 12 from the 30 and likely would have ended 41-17.

So that's 6 straight weeks off holding teams to 17 or fewer points.

Got people on here talking like this is the 2011 defense. You know how many times that 2011 defense kept teams under 17 points? Two times and one of them was against the Tyler Pako QB'd Chiefs.

You know how many times the 2014 defense did it? Seven times.

You know how many times the 2015 defense did it? Six times

Pats have now gone 6 straight weeks holding a team to 17 or fewer.

I'm sure someone will respond they haven't played anyone. So how come that line of thinking applies to the Patriots and not the Broncos because everytime someone ask who have they played, it's apparently a huge disrespect to the Broncos.

Six straight weeks of allowing 17 or fewer*** points. Ya i'm sure it will be "haven't played anyone" problem with that line of thinking is that's a league wide thing. There are a lot more bad teams than there are good teams. But we'll sit here and say who has Denver beaten and then get accused of disrespecting and overlooing them.

But let me break down the team we are disrespecting and overlooking

Carolina- Last in the NFC South. Was 1-5 before yesterday.

Indy- LOL

Cinci- Pats held Cinci to the same number of points, yards and 3rd down percentage that Denver did

Tampa Bay- Real quality win there

Houston- Pats shut them out, Denver allowed 9 points. Pats allowed less yards and less 3rd downs

So Cinci and Houston are the only common opponents, which Pats defense has played just as well as Denver's against those teams.

***Don't care.I absolutely will not hold that last TD against them because it never should have been at at the 1. Should have been 4th and 12 from the 30, Could also argue that it really was 10 because of that blatant facemask that should have negated the Taylor TD run and made it 4th and 18. But I won't.

I couldn't care less who they've played. They've played those teams well. Bill is sending the team a message that well isn't good enough for him and he'll ship those out who aren't performing up to standard.

Put me down for "In BB I trust." No clue on this trade. Also put me down for "in internet posts I don't trust."

::shrug::

I hope we get more points than the other guys most of the time then once the playoffs start I hope we get more points all the time. That would be a good thing.

Gotta be a reason. Gotta be.

Right? Right?

Okay okay in Bill I Trust... I guess that means in Elandon Roberts I trust...

What's an Elandon Roberts again?

Never mind, he's the greatest. Or Collins was a cancer. Or something to do with money. Or... I don't freaking know.

It'll be fine.
