NFL threatens to suspend 4 players from Al Jazeera report indefinitely if they don't interview

I do, however, enjoy the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth among the fans who supported the NFL in NFL v. Brady. I want them to get a taste of the medicine they so happily saw us swallow.

When they steal a few first round picks from their respective teams, maybe they'll get the message.

But that only applies to teams you're trying to dismantle.

Payback's a b!tch - it's only unfortunate that only 4 players are getting railroaded by Goodell's gang of front office brown-nosers.

Didn't the NFL already conclude that the Al Jazeera report was without substance by clearing Peyton? I mean sure, I think they were full of **** to do so, but if the report is valid, then Peyton's guilty and the NFL was wrong to clear him. If it's not, then there's no reason for these guys to be under any suspicion.

Those are the only logically consistent conclusions that can be drawn, anyway. If, say, Manning is operating under a special set of rules, or if this is just another completely arbitrary instance of Goodell flexing his unlimited authority for no other reason than that he can, then I guess this makes sense.

On the bright side, this really should hammer home to anyone who still doesn't realize it that Goodell is a ****ing clown who punishes people based on--according to his own previous statements and decisions--nothing at all.

I know I don't have to reiterate how much I loathe and abhor this cretin's very existence. This much has been obvious to every person who has ever spent even an hour reading this board over the years. I really hate this about myself, that the only living human being on this planet that can elicit this response from me in my entire lifetime is THIS shytbird.
But you know, it pains me to no end that this cretin is stealing oxygen from all of us, no matter how infinitesimal this theft may be. Our children, our brothers and sisters and moms and dads and uncles and aunts and cousins...our families are being ROBBED of the oxygen this mutt breathes every day to remain extant. This really, really aggravates me.

Just the start...............

I noticed how at the end of the NFLs statement, they mention article 46, is is just me or did that just come off as them being totally arrogant and laugh in the players and NFLPA faces?

It's not just you. Clearly, Goodell and the league office have been emboldened to a point where they believe they can do virtually whatever they please in terms of discipline - and they're right, they can.

In ancient Athens, out of a 500-man jury, 280 voted to convict Socrates. When it came to sentencing, 310 voted for the death penalty. Therefore 30 jurors voted to execute him for a crime that they didn't think he committed in the first place.

Those 30 jurors got a job with the NFL* front office.

All four of them should sit down with Goodell and say that they got the HGH for Manning's wife

Their testimony needs to be compelling if not overwhelming.

I'm telling you, it's the revenge of Kraft. He ultimately accepted the defeat on Brady, with the provision that eventually all 31 other teams must get annihilated in some way too.
If that's the case he is a moron.

This is a league that clearly doesn't care about appearances... such as the appearance of having it in the bag for the Manning family.

Just gonna reiterate what others said...F the league, F the 32, and God I hope they do get suspended for nothing. This is what needs to happen in a monthly basis to unite the NFLPA so when this CBA runs out it is a big enough issue that they strike long term. I want the league to burn from all their stupid greed

Id say refusing an interview is the same as destroying a cell phone. Either way you are withholding evidence from the investigation.

Furthermore, we now know deflating footballs is equivalent to using PED's in the mind of the commissioner so I'd expect nothing less than 4 games, a first round rounder and a million dollar team fine for each of these clowns.

What's fair is fair. Right Bob?

Yeah...I was mostly kidding when I wrote it, but I do wonder if Kraft has any influence in the league anymore. I mean, I'm wondering what that dynamic is. Or is he just considered a clown by those guys now since he rolled over. I really don't know.

...and this after clearing Manning of everything ?

It's a real embarrassment. Why are more people not calling out this absurd behaviour ?

NcCarthism => Goodellism 65 years later. Only people with 'balls' can stand up to this kind of terrorism and sadly I see history repeating itself once again. Logic has failed, the media has failed, the courts have failed, and finally the players have failed. I don't see anyone willing to stand up and take the potentially large hit over a gain that they see as benefits only a few people. Wee see it at a a different level as we (and the Saints) have experienced the relentless demagoguery of the NFL. Where is Spector's protege now that 'his' ox is being gored? Again, sadly, politicians have no 'balls' and will always avoid any controversy lest they somehow get on the wrong side of an argument. Only when others risk fortune and life for an issue will our political scum dare to venture into dangerous waters on the side of the perceived winner.
