Jets have 30mil or so in cap space and an extra 4th round pick. They can easily absorb the draft picks needed along with the cap hit.

I was aware of that. I don't put much stock in it. He's moved people all around the DL before. Do you really expect that BB would start explaining his plans to Reiss?

I cant remember BB ever saying much about a player on his team that has never played a down for him, am sure he could play DE but BB just wants to see if the kid can play at all

It doesnt matter.
They have a lot of cap room because they have a crappy roster.
Overspending on one player because you can, which is because you have few good players, just means you overpaid.
When they have a QB, a whole OL, a TE, corners, safeties, LBs paying 10 mill a year for a fragile WR who makes some big plays but is very inconsistent would be something they can't afford. Because they only have a shell of team does not make it a smart move.

But he has not played a DE that has weighed less than 30 lbs less than Armstead in 2 years.
