ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bears are shopping RE Julius Peppers for trade.

Don't think anyone would trade for him when it's rumored that the Bears are going to cut him. I'm not sure what his salary hit is but I'm sure it's high.

over 13 million.

He took that discount he promised he wouldn't.

Seahawks just won the SB

Seattle's the place to be right now, and that's giving them a huge edge. Plus, Bennett will be a PT player for that money. Nice work, if you can get it.

Man, there's going to be so many good players on the market. If the Pats blow this FA I doubt they'll win another one with Brady.

Profootballtalk reports free agent Vontae Davis is expected to sign a contract on Tuesday, but "not with the Colts."

Don't get your hopes up. This is the front office that, reportedly, was gleeful because they'd be shopping at Walmart last year. How'd that shopping spree work out?

One game away from the Super Bowl.

It landed them in the AFC Championship game with 4 All Pros on IR and another All Pro lost before the season started. I would say that's very impressive.

But continue spitting your garbage like you normally do.

Dolphins signed FS Louis Delmas to a one-year contract.

Wonder if anyone will trade for steve smith or where he will go

When have the pats gone after a lot of good FA besides 07? They don't. They are in the playoffs and close to winning SBs or going to them every year

Mankins cap hits w/ dead money in parentheses:

2013: 10 (12.25)
2014: 10.5 (8)
2015: 11 (4)
2016: 7 (0)

Am i the only one who thinks Mankins isn't worth 22M over the next 2 years and 29 over the next 3? Maybe he will improve with an upgrade next to him at Wendell, but he was responsible for more pressure than an 10+ million guard should allow IMO

Mankins isn't making 22 million over the next 2 years. You're confusing CAP with CASH. Mankins is making $21 over the next 3 years. And yes, he's worth it. Or did you not bother to see how well he played at LT at the end of the season when Solder was out?

Not because of the FAs, which is what I posted about.

Wilson, Armstead, Washington, Kelly and Amendola all injured or IR'd. Blount was a beast for us down the stretch with the highest yards in a game as a pat and the highest RPC of his career.

Overall these players getting injured helps your argument rather than were they good talent acquisitions. Before injury Tommy Kelly was on pace for the best year of his career statistically. Which would lend you to believe he was a good acquisition rather than a bad one.

I think we are just blinded somewhat by the fact Amendola was as advertised and the rest of our acquisitions were injured in training camp or never took the field.

Hard to blame the FO for that (other than Amendola).

2003 when they signed Harrison and Colvin.

The Pats look for the biggest bang for the buck, but not the buck that breaks the bank..

I thought Dimitri Patterson was supposed to be having a really good season last year for the Dolphins? am i missing something?

Reading that he's very talented, but often injured. Sounds way too familiar around here.

Wilson - Bust
Armstead - Bust if you count him (I don't count UDFAs or FAs from other leagues)
Kelly - started well until injured
Jenkins - bust
Jones - Bust
Svitek - aside from Kelly, the 'cream' of the Patriots FA crop

Blount - Trade, not FA

Easy as pie to 'blame' the front office. Last year's Walmart shopping spree was a near-complete failure.
