I love, love who you list the Curly-Haired Boyfriend as if he is a Red Sox shill. That is beyond clueless. He recently released a tell-all book with Francona, after the Red Sox fired hm. He accused Ortiz of using steroids as well. The Red Sox hate the guy.

CHB is not a Red Sox shill - - he's hot and cold on them - - but he wants the subject to be the Red Sox. Not only are the Patriots an annoyance to him he's simply anti Kraft. The Globe and its Sports Editor, Joe Sullivan are Red Sox shills. CHB has his own thinly veiled agenda. And, yes regarding the Red Sox, sometimes that does not jibe with the Globe. When it comes to the Patriots, it does.

Notice the Globe completely left his Francona book off of its "Books of 2013" list - - - they almost NEVER do that to their own writers.

In the meantime, football bores CHB. He is like Homer Simpson at an opera. This is why a 12-5 team like the Colts, who has this year beaten the Chiefs twice, the 49ers IN SAN FRANCISCO and the freakin' Seahawks IN SEATTLE is (in his words) "a tomato can". His only aim is to diminish the Patriots and any achievement they may accomplish. Plus try to make some money while the newspaper industry slowly sinks.

I've said this before, but I really hate the attitude in general of local media regarding the Patriots. I don't expect them to be rah-rah homer types, but they bend over backwards in the opposite direction. Case in point: anxiety mongers Felger and Mazzaweasel. Every spin they come up with is negative or controversial in some way. Today's topics include whether the window is closing on winning another Super Bowl with Brady and how many times BB smiled during post-game press conferences this season. They could be talking match-ups, strategy, etc. Hell, the game is tomorrow!

I really wish we could get more REAL football talk when it matters a la Chatham/Price/Arnold instead of having it limited to such a narrow window on game day.

I agree. Foxboro (while a very nice community) is like going to Siberia for a football game for most people.

You DO understand, however, that Kraft wanted to build his stadium in Boston?

And WHO led the charge against it? The same newspaper publishing stories in its Lifestyle section that people don't want to go to Foxboro for a football game.

Screw the Globe. Screw the convicted Tommy Finneran, screw the brother of the convicted killer - Billy Bulger, screw the plagiarist Mike Barnicle and (with all due respect to the dead) screw Whitey Bulger's pal Will McDonough. THOSE are the guys we all can thank for there not being an easily accessible Patriots stadium in Boston.

The Globe putting out this article in their Lifestyle section now is like a Philip Morris spokesman saying that someone who died should never have smoked.

Demand for tickets is down everywhere in the NFL - to the point where 3 playoff games, including Green Bay, would have been blacked out if the NFL hadn't given multiple extensions last week. There are many factors but cost and HDTV play a big factor.

Taking that there was no hint of a blackout in NE with a monsoon forecast and combining it with what will be a monster TV rating would seem to speak more to the lack of playoff fatigue.

What the Globe seems to have reported here is a decline in the secondary ticket market for this year's game versus previous years and declared it playoff fatigue. Seems to be a pretty shaky conclusion to me.

There would likely be no tailgating in Boston ..... Most people would take public transportation......it would not have been the same.

That's the problem.

If one wants to go to a picnic have a picnic.

I have a good friend who attends 3-4 games per year. He does a GREAT tailgate. He missed the last 3 minutes of the New Orleans game just so he could fire up the grill in time and get the jello shots ready. So did approximately half of the stadium.

Someone should inform these Emirils that there is a GAME going on.

Sox fans seem to have just as much fun at Fenway as Patriots fans have in Foxboro. And they are louder and more into the game - - because they aren't worrying about preparing their marinated steak tips.

I brought my son up to the game against the Bills 2 weeks ago. We had an awesome lunch before the game at the Japanese steakhouse restaurant at Patriot Place, then went over to the W.IT.S. Espionage place, showed them our ticket stubs and played for $10 each. Then had a great time at the game. It can be done without the camp-out.

You have a better chance of being agoraphobic than I of being a "fool." How anyone can claim "going to Foxboro fatigue" living a mere 10 minutes away is preposterous.

So if missing two home games in 21 years makes me a "pink hat," color me pink! Should fortunes turn and the team suffer losing seasons, I'll still be there because I love the game. As for where I was prior to the 1993 season -- I didn't live in the area. But the way you put it seems to indicate disdain for the team's success and "pride" in failure. Odd.
