Pats fans suffering from 'playoff fatigue'

Personally, I hate the tailgates.

If one wants to go to a picnic have a picnic.

I have a good friend who attends 3-4 games per year. He does a GREAT tailgate. He missed the last 3 minutes of the New Orleans game just so he could fire up the grill in time.

Someone should inform these Emirils that there is a game going on.

Sox fans seem to have just as much fun at Fenway as Patriots fans have in Foxboro. And they are louder and more into the game - - because they aren't worrying about preparing their marinated steak tips.

My tailgating goes back to family event with my dad, uncle, bro, cousins......cast iron hibachi and a Coleman stove......we would be there at 8am even for 4pm games......breakfast lunch and dinner

You have a better chance of being agoraphobic than I of being a "fool." How anyone can claim "going to Foxboro fatigue" living a mere 10 minutes away is preposterous.

So if missing two home games in 21 years makes me a "pink hat," color me pink! Should fortunes turn and the team suffer losing seasons, I'll still be there because I love the game. As for where I was prior to the 1993 season -- I didn't live in the area. But the way you put it seems to indicate disdain for the team's success and "pride" in failure. Odd.

Bend and twist all you like, but you are no more than any other fair weather fan. Talk to me when you show up in December for a 2 win tem

I certainly will, if either of us are still alive. Somehow I doubt that ever will happen under Kraft ownership.

That's awesome.

How were the GAMES?

THAT'S the problem - - maybe not for you, but for many Pats fans in Gillette. The game is secondary to the tailgate.

If the stadium in Boston hadn't been blocked by the Globe, you'd have LOUD crowds engaged in the game who would not have to worry about impossible traffic backups and therefore have to resort to camp outs in the parking lot.

It helps to understand what CAUSED tailgating.

Have fun at the game.......the brisket and the ribs will be coming out of the smoker just about when you are pulling up to your parking spot. Handy snack during the warm up game

That's a lie.

The games were awesome.......back then, the pats were the most athletic and physical team in the league, and most of the time you could pretty much sit wherever you wanted......you could even sit alone

But the tailgating completes the day

No it's not......the 4 hour before game time restriction was not always in place

I was talking about how long you were going to Pats games with your family. Anybody that's that much of a fan doesn't feel the need to brag about it on a Pats message board. You're quite clearly lying.

It wasn't a brag, boy

My original point was about giving up the tix.....then it turned into a question of passion......

Not that I give a crap what you think

So to sum up what Illegal Contact has written here.

The games were awesome because of the tailgating and empty seats at the stadium.

Go Pats?

In the meantime, football bores CHB. He is like Homer Simpson at an opera. This is why a 12-5 team like the Colts, who has this year beaten the Chiefs twice, the 49ers IN SAN FRANCISCO and the freakin' Seahawks IN SEATTLE is (in his words) "a tomato can". His only aim is to diminish the Patriots and any achievement they may accomplish. Plus try to make some money while the newspaper industry slowly sinks.

Just a quibble...the Colts didn't beat the Seahawks in Seattle. It was in Indy.

Still, some of the wins (don't forget the Broncos) were pretty damned impressive.

Pretty simplistic......whatever floats your boat......

We had a blast going to the games.....end result notwithstanding, they were more fun 30 years ago

Well, game time hurts the Pats. Bad enough that the game starts at 8:30 - if you're parking across the street, it'll be two hours before you get out, which for many people means crawling in the house at 2-3 in the morning.

I've been to a lot of stadiums - the parking at Gillette has got to be the worst for getting out (unless you shell out big bucks for the lot right near the stadium and sneak out the back way).

Just as the manner in which the colts are capable of crashing and burning

Exactly!

Which is why the Globe blocking them from building their stadium in Boston is so important.

Never hear about that same complaint about 8:30pm playoff games from Fenway fans, do you? Stadium accessibility and location counts. Mss pols (coaxed by the Globe) screwed Kraft bigtime. And now the Globe is pulling the ol' Philip Morris "Well ya shouldn't have smoked".

Brisket and ribs?! Wow! How generous of you! Will you be there yourself or did you hire a caterer? Where is this parking spot you speak of?

Sure it was a brag. And if you didn't give a crap what I think, you wouldn't be responding. Spread your nonsense elsewhere, pal.
