Re: The Final Tebow Is Gone Thread - RIP

Can we put all future Tebow comments on this thread and stop the others. AND, let's agree to open no more Tebow threads. Even if we open a 3rd QB thread, can we please not mention Tebow's name. And finally, after a month of mourning, can we consider all Tebow posts off topic and belonging in the "Other Teams" subforum.

Sure and while you are at it, why did you start a new Tebow related thread?

I'll be the first to help you with your request, MG, and will merge your brand new Tebow thread into this one one that has been aggregated from others all day long today.

No problem.

If I start a Tebow thread..and then start an Un-Tebow thread...will I have inadvertently brought matter and anti-matter together...causing the end of all creation??

I can see this "Tebow Released" stuff is very dangerous..very dangerous indeed...

I'm not real sure how making commercial is harming third world countries. He and his mom are glad she didn't follow through with the recommendation to have him aborted. I thought it was a cool story.

I assume he objects (as I do as well) to Tebow being affiliated with Christian organizations that are more about disapproving of the action of others rather than about performing Christian charity. Focus on the Family is notoriously anti-gay, and ministering about birth control helps no one; it only shames women. True Christian charity is always about doing good works for your fellow man and NEVER about judging or condemning the way these groups Tebow associates with do.

If you start a new and separate Tebow Thread complaining about there being too many Tebow threads, you will be laughed at as hard as Mgteich was just laughed at.

I think that is an impossibility in that ALL Tebow threads are connected on a higher plane and under the auspices of a higher power than any mere mortal's message board...therefore I think we are all safe from any inadvertent end of the world Tebow scenarios...:idontgetit:

I just have a problem with the parts of his religion he chooses to promote. He's supported beliefs which I hope he's just merely ignorant about in as far as the damage they do to human dignity.
That's fine. Keep it to yourself. The man has a Constitutional right to worship as he sees fit. As long as he is not running into the stands wearing an explosive vest or decapitating those who disagree with his beliefs, we have agreed among ourselves (via the Constitution) to let him.

Birth control (even in his native Phillipines) would help some women who don't want any more children but feel they can't say no due to their religion (Christian or otherwise). This results in there being all those starving children around the world. Religion is used in these areas to make sure women 'know their place'.

Even here in the United States, many religious (but poor) families keep having kids despite not wanting more because organizations like the ones Tebow has supported deny women the ability to have a say in their own reproductive cycles. I can provide data, if desired.

Just as I have a Constitutional right to not want his particular religion influencing political events. The First Amendment goes both ways.

I'm not sure about all that and wouldn't want to get into it. But I'd guess Tebow has strong convictions about living your life a certain way. But in every instance Tebow was mic'd up with a kid or giving a talk, I don't remember him once browbeating anyone or any group. I've just never heard that attitude come from him.

You don't have to yell in his position. I think he's a good kid just very ignorant of the rest of the world.

As a woman, i wanted to address this, and then back to football. I appreciate the fact that he reminds girls/young women that if they are pregnant and face obstacles that there are people that want to help and that a decision made in a time of stress is not always the best one for current or future peace. Having a choice in a decision doesn't mean getting rid of a baby is the only choice. Life is also a choice and he encourages it. He has never sounded judgmental to me, just a guy with hope and love. Nothing wrong with that.

Now back to football. He didn't make the team. Not the end of the world and he will be fine. Go Patriots!

Thanks for that informative post, Jandkmom. I never knew Tim Tebow was Pro-Choice.

One learns something every day!

I'm sure. Anyone who's read the Bible is sure. The word of Jesus in the Biblical text could not possibly be more clear: Judge not lest ye be judged. There are example after example of Jesus admonishing his followers for acting in judgement of the disadvantaged or marginalized who do not 'live their lives a certain way'. Christianity is about faith, love, and doing good works; it is not about hate and divisiveness. These groups Tebow aligns himself with could not be further removed from Christian doctrine.

As a man I'd like some information...uh....wait...family board

nevermind

Imagine my surprise on that fateful day when I first realized...Madonna is a REAL person

I've never been quite the same since...did Mad Donna spend a fateful night with Billy Ray?

That would have been an interesting "choice".
